thought someone better start one.

I think the Germans will stuff South Korea today and I also have a sneaky feeling that Sweden will frustrate Mexico, grab a late winner and send them out.

what i really want from today is that Brazil and Germany avoid each other in the last 16 as I backed backed them both to get to the semis

Germany in a bit of a mess changing their central midfield and defence again. No doubt they’ll luck upon a combination eventually.

I hope Germany go through and I think they will. For all their issues, they are still a team that plays some good football and at least try to play a proactive brand of football, with some decent attacking players.

South Korea are pretty poor side who won’t exactly enhance the latter stages.

I think this could possibly be the best set up he’s tried so far, looks like a 433 with the more dynamic Goretzka in the CM. I’d have Brandt instead of Özil personally.

Edit

Looks like 4231 with Goretzka as ARM???

Neuer did well (normal) to get up straight away after the knock on the face. All the other keepers we’ve seen so far this week would still be rolling around on the floor.

Do they teach how to tackle in Korea?
I used to teach in South Korea at a secondary school and occasionally played football with the kids. Whenever I did a slide tackle or headed the ball they'd all lose their shit, as if I'd done something exotic and amazing. When they play football growing up it's practically a non-contact sport so it doesn't surprise me that they're shit as tackling, and are so reluctant to put the ball in the box.
