I think they need to make the top two seeded teams play each other in the first round. Makes the final games more interesting.

But that's not all he is. I don't disagree that he doesn't quite contribute enough going foward, but there's also no player that we can obtain with his ability to retain possession and boss the midfield.
"Quite" is an understatement here.

Yeah I wouldn't be happy with the Spurs contingent in either dressing room seeing that. Plenty of time to have a kiss and cuddle or whatever before (and after) the game... Not during the battle though, no matter how low-key they're taking this. Never a fan of all that tbh.

Danny, Toby and Lukaku share a nice moment. Lukaku to Spurs? :p

Maguire on for Stones. Stones with 100% pass completion in the first half. Flawless. ;)

Somewhere in Liverpool computers are being warmed up to tell Twitter the Spurs boys friendliness cost England the World Cup.

We need to win imo, too many people thinking Colombia will be a walkover. Way too early to be thinking about the Quarters. Poor decision from Southgate to make eight changes.
I don't think he should've made the changes - just saying that it's not the responsibility of Southgate to please the fans.

England do play in 4 days as it stands. How many times do teams play a weakened side mid-week before a big Saturday game? At least this way the most of the first 11 will have a full week off like their bodies are used to.

disagree, Really I don't have any problem with it, good to see to tell you the truth, shows the closeness in the club we have.

Complete farce of a game. Imagine paying for flights, hotel and match tickets for the marquee game and are given a reserve match. If this involved two other nations pundits which be calling it a disgrace.

They may as well have just called it a draw couple of days ago and picked it out of a hat who comes first, neither manager cares about winning as 2nd is the better route, if they did care they wouldn't have rotated nearly whole team.

If it wasn't England I'd want them both knocked out in next round for giving this to the fans who travelled miles for this.
The group qualification system and draw needs looking at. Games like this make it a complete farce. Neither team wants to win.

Well good news. 2026 brings a group system that people will hate worse.

Best way to stop the fuckery is only the top team goes through with a few best runners up, which will be possible when they expand the number of teams

I don't know who both managers think their teams are. England haven't won a knockout game for years whilst Belgium haven't played a single decent team since Martinez took over and have been complete bottle jobs for years. Surely would've made sense to test yourselves and build confidence before the knockouts.
