You are quick off the mark for today's matches cwy21 !

All three on Irish land tv. Just got to keep the Mrs happy and not hog the big screen tv too much.

My call - Wins for Uruguay, Morocco and Spain.

The benefit of the US timezones. I can start the thread in the evening here. I'm looking forward to all three matches tomorrow. Morocco/Iran is almost a must win for both teams. It's hard to see either going through with just a point tomorrow.

The opposite for me. Tail end of the day and matches kicking off at 10pm, 1am and 4am today :(

I see Morocco winning tonight. On paper, to me, it looks like they have a better team, and Iran have had some issues in the build up - including Nike withdrawing as their sponsor just a few days ago.

Uruguay, Morocco, Draw is going to be my acca for the day.

Pissed off Salah is back, mind. I put Uruguay's Muslera and Godin in my Dream Team thinking he'd miss their opener.

The fun begins properly today. Hoping for some good football, lots of goals, and a dislocated shoulder for Mo Salah.

I wouldn't mind him being back for the Russia/Saudi Arabia games and any thereafter, but as I'd set up my defence assuming he wasn't playing it's a bit of an inconvenience. One of the dream team league's I'm in is worth about £200 to the winner so I don't really want to get off to a shit start.

Also if he scores a few I don't want it to become the Salah Cup. That would be unbearable.

He's not fully fit. This is a Wazza and Becks metatarsal situation for them. More chance of his shoulder popping out again than him scoring a hat full.

Done the same, just can't see a winner in Portugal Spain, think both will just be setting out to not lose, knowing they have 2 relatively easy games to see them through.

I think Uruguay Egypt will be good to watch, Cavani and Suarez could score a couple each today.

Not sure, Rooney and Beckham were out for a couple of months prior to the World Cup if I recall, Salah played 3 weeks ago, he may be a bit rusty as he's lost momentum and confidence though.

There's a clip of someone coming up and trying to hug him from yesterday, and he visibly recoiled, like he was protecting the shoulder. It's a nasty injury, he's not going to be quite right.

Will be keeping my eye our for an early shoulder to shoulder challenge on him then.

Good. I hope his arm falls off so that Suarez can pick it up and start chewing on it.

If Egypt have any sense salah will be saved for the easier two matches. Bound to be tested injury wise by the South American's defence with a couple of tasty shoulder to shoulder challenges

This. They know exactly how to use this as an advantage.
