Thought our Spurs boys were outstanding tonight (including Davinson), immensely proud of Trips and Dier stepping up to smash home their pens while Henderson was busy doing keepy uppies and Vardy was presumably sat on the half way line chewing gum like the tiresome shit haired racist he is.
I know that this sounds a bit sanctimonious but I can't understand why we don't get behind all the England players whilst the world cup is on. It still feels like people are letting club rivalries seep in and I've always felt like that should be set aside when England are playing or what's the point in supporting England in the world cup? Especially as this really seems like a proper 'team' at last. Maybe that's modern football and. I'm living in the dark ages!

Regarding Vardy not taking a penalty. If he didn’t think he was up to it, then it was the right decision by him. Goodness knows how many shootouts we’ve lost because players who “didn’t fancy it” yet still took one and missed.

Never a truer word typed.

It’s quite obvious that the 5 volunteers 1) Thought they could do it 2) passed the psychometric test to back up their assertions.

I suspect Vardy did volunteer, I doubt he’d shy away, but his results would have inferred he was a higher risk to cope with the stress.

As a side note, the tests could have the reverse effect in that it’s planted a seed to say “I can’t cope with the stress” and becomes a self fulfilling prophecy

I read that he got them all to run off quickly at HT and not get involved in any of that. But then the Colombia coach steps in and barges Sterling anyway.

The coach was then caught on camera laughing about it. He should get in trouble.

They're pissed off that Dier is the hero by the looks of RAWK anyway. :ROFLMAO:

They're also moaning about Ospina being able to save Henderson's but not Diers.

So theyre annoyed someone else other than a Liverpool player is the hero? And they wanted ospina to save diers penalty? Hate their fan base more than anyone else.

Your mate saying similar or is he actually pleased we won?

The majority were haters of anything that wasn't Liverpool, it was the usual anti-Kane, Gashford, Tripper and particularly bad stuff against Pickford as he is an Everton player.

The BBC sports platforms like 5Live etc should be made to have a look at the demented RAWK and no doubt other Liverpool supporting mouthpieces to see such vicious and inane drivel is spouted by the twatty tosspots.

They might wind in and cool down their strange love affair with that team which attracts so many imbeciles.

England lacks that creative midfielder, like a Christian Eriksen. We have holding CMs like Henderson and Dier, and then hybrids like Alli, Lingard etc., but no actual creator directing our play. Think it'll tell in our upcoming games, but who knows? It's nice to enjoy the ride.
The closest we have is Shelvey. Personally I'd have taken him to the world cup, but I guess his disciplinary record is against him.

After Grealish joins us, Poch will mould him to be England’s Eriksen for Euro 2020

We're both Irish so it's different with the national team. He's away on holidays as well so hearing very little from him about the WC. Although he did text me to say Come on the Spurs national team. He wanted England to win which for an Irish person is unusual, but I really don't understand why, seeing as most of our male population who enjoy football follow an English team anyway. The hate stems from the obvious political stuff that went on over 100 years ago. Nothing to do with sport

Ok, calmed down now.

Let's be honest, it was much the same pattern as the other games... Our one outball is to knock it into the channel for a runner. Otherwise we have a midfield void, have to put up with torturous attempts at trying to play out from the back and advance into the midfield, are struggling to create any chances from open play (we managed one through pass all game), and are relying on the indiscipline of the other teams.

However this is a group that obviously has a bit of spirit, belief and resilience to it. The equaliser would have been a kick in the teeth but, though they wobbled for a bit in extra time, they regrouped and then had individuals step up in the shootout to get the job done. What is also being shown is the value of preparation and getting the finer details right, especially in tournament football. This England team isn't the most talented, it has numerous flaws, but they've worked on things that they have within their control - such as set pieces and penalties - to give them an edge and make them competitive. Southgate deserves credit for this, because you just know so many managers wouldn't have even focused on those areas.

Next game if Vardy is fit then I'd probably play him up top instead of Sterling, it just isn't working for him in the No.10 role, and if Rose is fit and able to run for 90 minutes then his burst into the box and shot across goal was instantly more than Young offered on the left hand side.

Edit: And yet again, despite being awarded a penalty (which was impossible to ignore), you had to feel hard done by with some of the officiating. Colombia getting away with Headbutts, forearm smashes (on the pitch, and sidelines), constant arguing/aggression with officials for several minutes at a time (even when players have already been booked - Falcao the main culprit), ridiculously long celebrations having jumped into the crowd when they scored... The ref just failed to get control and aided their shithousery.
