Sterling and Dele both been poor, but at least Sterling has got into dangerous positions. Allí has been awful tbh.

Dele has been really frustrating. What I also hate is the lack of urgency in his general movement, he looks so laboured and moves with the ball so slowly.

Fuck me, the pundits on the bbc are sucking sterling’s cock big time. What game are they watching? Yes his runs have been threatening, but unless he gets his head up there are always going to come to nothing.

We've been poor.

Set-pieces are cool, but we will have to play football to win this cup.

We must get the next goal; if it's Sweden, things will get super hairy.

I want to see a good performance to carry us into the semis.

Important to progress from here confident in your game, knowing you can really play.

20 minutes of tedium, really really nervous and bad game with zero tempo or movement. England then got the breakthrough and looked a bit more settled. The last 10 minutes they have then found the areas where they can open Sweden up (especially down our right flank/half space) and really this game should be 2, maybe 3-0 and almost done.

Sterling looks like his confidence/form is destroyed (hence the missed chances) and then compounds it by being far too desperate to turn it around (hence not squaring it to a better placed team mate). He's started to make some good runs, but the team is largely carrying him and it's getting to the point where he is running out of rope.

It's not revolutionary football, but we've got some effective strengths and enough about us to make inroads. Just got to keep going, I suspect Sweden will plug some gaps and reorganise so we will have to keep working them again and be patient and smart with the ball.

Kane is England best and most intelligent player yet every other England player seems to be doing everything in their power to keep the ball away from him.

Been really disappointed with his movement at times tbf, he's still 'managing' himself through a 90 minutes.

Yet again Tripps has been our best player.

Running out of words for how impressed I am with him in this tourney.

Hope he brings all that goodness back to us for next season.

You guys will win this now when you have the first goal. We don't have anything going forward. Berg and Toivonen are utter trash. A goal from a corner or free-kick is the only thing you need to worry about.

Thought that was about England until I saw the names.

he's playing deeper than he does at Spurs.

He is and it's certainly not helping. The things that actually make him a good player can't be done where he's positioned for most of the game. I would rather see Kane the furthest forward with Alli sitting behind as opposed to Kane sitting behind Sterling.

What a boring game
Both Sterling and Lingard are poor decision makers. Kane must have been biting his tongue when Sterling did not pass him the ball.
And why is Young preferred over Rose at LWB? He's got acres of space and all he does is waste time switching it to his right-foot and make crosses that are not even close to an English player.
Dele need to show more than he's done so far.
Kane has been quiet but he's not got hardly any service at all though. Besides, is looks as if Southgate have not understood that Kane is best as a CF and not as a "fake" no. 10.

And, while I am thinking about it - why doesn't Walker ever hit the cross first time, when Trippier plays it back to him? Thats when the cross is open, not when he passes it back to Trippier who has been closed down....
