If Sterling had shot TuPac he’d be 47 today

Cant take credit for this.

Unless Kane doesn’t start scoring until October :(

If this month turns out as most of us hope, the whole male contingent of England won't be walking straight until next year, so not really that bothered right now.

People putting it down to the side of the draw we are in need to take some Prozac.

It’s the World Cup, every player and every team trying to make a mane for themselves, passion through the roof, no such thing as an easy game. This Sweden side beat Italy to be here, Germany (the world champions no less) failed to emerge from a group including Mexico, Korea and, that’s right, Sweden. Belgium, probably the best set of players collectively, were 20 minutes away from going out to Japan. Spain were knocked out by Russia. In fact, the three last world champions at the tournament (seeing as Italy didn’t even get to the Russia) were all knocked out by sides who have never won the World Cup before.

We should be bloody proud. When did the supposed golden generation ever play for each other like this, and with so much cohesion and purpose? I, for one, am delighted.

Maguire has (so far) proved me massively wrong, but then again I'm quite often wrong so it's an easy thing to admit :D

Henderson I still don't like one bit, although he played well today so fair play. Sterling annoys the fuck out of me. That bit where him and Ashley Young was it? Baffled each other and let the ball run out in there penalty area, plus the chances in the first half where he never even got a shot in on goal (I know one was offside but fuck me, get a shot in) had me wanting to stub a cigar out on his nose. Southgate keeps picking him so we can only hope his moment comes.

Dele did well I thought. Trippier was again outstanding. A lot of the players were.

But it worries me how we're not really giving Kane any service, fuck knows how he's scored 6 goals :D The stats say he's done enough to win the Golden Boot but I feel he might still need one or two more just to put it beyond reach so a semi final followed by a final or 3rd place play off game will come in handy, but we need to start creating more for him or putting him on the ball in much more advanced areas.

I get why Southgate would keep it the same. It's a winning formula to date. I just want him to seek those minor changes that would make the difference. Especially the Kane part. But whatever happens, I'm so delighted with this side and their progress.

Yeah I agree, I mean I don't like to fault Southgate for much at all considering where we are but it is annoying to see promising attacks being formed and for Kane to not be in the picture.

How does Sterling keep getting picked and keep getting so much praise. Butchering chances all over the place. Rashford must be seriously fucked off with it.

In this game I actually think Lindelöf was really good marking Kane. But he creates space for other players for example Sterlings two very good chances.

What the actual fuck is going on. It’s crazy. Been 28 years since I’ve seen us in a semi final. We are bringing this fucker home. There. I said it.

From the BBC

Sweden manager Janne Andersson: "Yes, I definitely believe England are good enough to win it. They are forceful, well-organised. I'd like to pay tribute to the team and coach.
"They are a good footballing side. I think they would be perfectly able to go all the way"

He does make space for others which is good but at what cost? I just feel it's hindering Kane a bit primarily for the benefit of Sterling, who has been very poor.

It's incredible that Kane is the top scorer in a team that isn't really set up to provide him with chances.
