I genuinely don’t see the debate it was a foul and it’s great having the technology as in other sports.

What is the point of var if the referee can't fucking read it right anyway he played the ball, unbefuckinglievable.

Live you could see it was played first by the defender.

The behind the goal camera angle then showed best that he played the ball on to the attacker. VAR though seemingly didn't have that camera angle, and the others made it look like a foul but didn't give the best picture of the scene. Seems silly to me if it doesn't have all angles to look at. Think the Aussies have been hard done by there.

Great pen that. He had to wait an age to take it.

I think it is a penalty because if the player doesn’t follow through on griezmann he doesn’t fall over and can make a shot at goal.

Huh? He gets the ball - what happens after that is irrelevant

It doesn’t matter that he got the ball, the touch wasn’t enough to take the ball out of “play” hence the follow through was a foul

I don't get why the ref has to run off and check the screen personally. Why can't someone just tell him in his ear whether he's made a mistake or not?

Kills the rhythm of the game, and they still don't get the decision right
