Is every player gonna beg for VAR now

I'm a big fan of the rugby rules that only allows the team captain to approach the ref. There's just so many chaotic situations in these type of games that makes the ref lose control

Argentina so clearly trying to do everything through Messi, making it very easy for Iceland to mark him out. He doesn’t have the physique of Ronaldo so you can do that to him.

Given the talent they have on the rest of the pitch, they should just play normally and believe that when he does get the ball he can make magic happen.

Messi and Ronaldo are very different though. Messi has always been more of a conduit, more involved in game play, more of a play maker, Ronaldo more peripheral, more of an explosive impact type player.

Is this a great Argentina team ? It's decent, but I wouldn't call it great. Good coach though.

Oh I absolutely agree. I just think that both Portugal and Argentina both tried to play mainly through their ‘main men’, and was trying to articulate why I think this works better for Portugal than Argentina

Good coach who hasn't had enough time with the team and won't be able to sort out a defence far too ropey to be able to win a World Cup.

Anyway, Áfram Ísland! I'm unable to watch the matches today but always hope for my Nordic brethren.

Gunnarsson looks like the bad guy from a famous TV show or movie, but I can't think of what it is. Anyone?
