Loving the fact that a spurs forum is split down the middle as to stonewall pen/ridiculous decision, who the fuck would want to be a referee?

Genuinely stumped that people think that wasn't a penalty. His hands were above his head and then he goalkeeper reaction saved it at his side. Fuck being a ref...

I was desperate for a France win at the start of this game because I couldn't bear the thought of Lovren winning a WC. This referee has completely changed my mind in the first 45 minutes.

Don't blame them considering the two decisions that have led to France's goals so far

The ref had to watch it a lot more times than most of the VAR decisions prior to this, so maybe he shouldn't have overturned his original decision. Or he became convinced. Either way, controversial.

Nothing was overturned. He clearly didn't see the incident so hadn't made the decision that it wasn't a penalty.

If the French player had made contact I’d agree but the ball missed him and was clear hand to ball.

Think it was the right call

The ball flew over the defenders head and hit Perisic milliseconds later, how the hell is he supposed to get his hand out the way? He wouldn’t have even seen the ball coming.

50% of SC thinks it’s a pen, 50% doesn’t.

Only person that matters thought it was. That’s the fine line. The refs have to be 100% correct.

He waved it away, didn't he? then only went to the VAR because the France players protested.
