No he gave France a freekick by a dive. He should've booked a France player from taking a free kick then and should have booked a Croatian player for pulling Mbappe back just now. Both are bookable offences. The ref's have been incompetent in this WC. Shearer just said I hope the final is not decided on this awful decision.

Every pundit on the TV is saying it wasn't a penalty either. You'll forgive me for believing them over a few posters on here who want Croatia to lose.
It’s nailed on. It’s the movement of his hand that gives it away. It is not a natural flowing movement but a chopping motion. He’s deliberately gone hand to ball.

Not every pundit is agreeing with Shearer either, Keown said it was the correct decision.

I'm not sure I even buy his hands being in an unnatural position for that incident. His hands went up in the air as he jumped up, they came down as he came back towards the ground.
I agree. But that is what the law makers will argue.

IMO his arms are coming down naturally as a result of him coming down from his jump.

Go out and try to jump.

Well, there's one thing to jump and have your arms raised above your head like Pique did against Russia, when Russia was awarded a penalty. One would debate that it was not a penalty because to make a high jump you must use your arms (like you point out to me, "Try and jump") In this situation Perisic got his arms horizontal raised and seems to be 'slashing' his arm downward. It's a tough decision to make, and if there's doubt, the ref should not award a penalty. IMO it was a penalty

Didn't see the hand in real time.
As soon as the ref was told to go to VAR without seeing any replays I said pen.
I can see both sides, the ref clearly wasn't 100% sure as he left and then went back for 1 more look
Still not 100%

Guess Klinsmann and Lineker both quality strikers in their era are both wrong? and Ferdinand a world class defender, is he wrong too? The bloody handball didn’t even hit the definition or VAR requirements.

You guess right. They are idiots. They were literally watching Peresic move his hand and slap the ball whilst saying “travesty”.

That's a weak argument. We all know Keown talks utter shite. How he is co-commentator and gets the WC final is beyond me.

That’s exactly what VAR is for. Croatia were by a mile the better side, i don’t want them to be losing, but it was a pen.

Really? And Shearer is the font of all knowledge?

Have a word...

Loving the fact that a spurs forum is split down the middle as to stonewall pen/ridiculous decision, who the fuck would want to be a referee?
Trust me there wouldn't be a split decision if a penalty is awarded to Utd or Chelsea playing us. Not one of the posters thinking that's a penalty will think the same if it's giving against us.

Have I mentioned Shearer? Selective by you though as Jurgen and Rio agreed with Shearer.
Not sure what the ITV pundits verdicts were

P.s. has anyone mentioned that, if it was a foul on Lovren in this game, then the Croatia equaliser in the England game should have been disallowed... :X3:
