I am concerned that this WC could be derailed by the amateurish refereeing . Switzerland kicked Neymar all over the place and Tunisia just wrestled players own. Where were the yellow cards? Have they been banned for this WC?
This WC so far has been a joke. The refs been allowing way to much and for some strange reason we see the press giving all the praise they can to all the anti football some teams are playing today.

I am never going to see another game with Iceland because watching them makes me want to kill myself.

Also seeing the ref allowing that Tunisian player disturb Trippiers freekick in the end is an absolute joke.

I just think not scoring freekicks and being "shit" at freekicks aren't the same thing. He doesn't take many and when he does he tends to at least test the keeper, which is more than can be said for Young. I'm not saying he should take them ahead of Eriksen at Spurs, but in this England team he has the best chance of scoring IMO.

It was a free shot at goal from just outside the box and I'd rather see our best striker of the ball take it. Before Ronaldo's goal against Spain, he hadn't scored a freekick in his previous 46 attempts - I doubt Harry has even taken half that many for us. Big players step up on the biggest stage and Harry is England's big player at the moment.

Each to their own though, thankfully it doesn't matter now that we've won.

But how can he be considered good at free kicks if he doesn't score any? It doesn't make sense, and most of the time he doesn't hit the target with them either, he would be much better behind the wall and knocking in a potential rebound as he is genuinely good at that.

Keown was terrible wasn’t he. Moaning about Dele all second half yet lingard got off Scot free. Rashford and Sterling running down blind alleys and making the wrong decision time and again didn’t help.

He was a disgrace - constantly questioning “is the system right though?” just because we were drawing, despite it being fine for the qualifiers and about time an England team had an actual system to use.

Henderson didn't do anything wrong ffs, some of you people need to sort it out.

Wouldn't have Young on the left though, let's hope Rose is fit for the next match.

Pretty much. FIFA has clearly told their refs to keep the cards in the pockets because the same fans and media would be crying foul for a ref "ruining the match" with too many yellows. Instead you get negative football and too many tactical fouls. I hate it.

So what do we take out of that then? Good/average performance, more questions then answers?
The positives are:

- We've showed that we are capable of creating chances against a bunkered side
- We've beaten a side that gave Spain and Portugal problems
- A win under the belt.
- We won't usually play sides that West-Brom-it-up so much and get away with it. We know now that feels as a Spurs fan

There’s no doubting that England still lack the quality of the likes of Germany, France, etc and Southgate can’t really do much about that, but at least this team tried to do more of the right things than previous incarnations.

I’m so sick of hearing English pundits say “they need to get the ball forward quicker” whenever a team is up against a well drilled bus park, and Tunisia were parked deeper and deeper as that game wore on.

First half Tunisia were awful, and a better quality team would have killed them.

Trippier, Henderson were the best performers over the 90. Alli was good for the first 30. LC decent little cameo and Rashford looked lively.

I’d have Rose in for Young and Loftus-Cheek for Linguard next game. I generally like Sterling, but he wasn’t great tonight and Rashford could start next one and see how he does.
If any of those Lingard chances had fallen to Dele, England would have been out of sight by half time.

I know Vardy and Kane played together for Leicester but did they ever play together at the same time? I think that would be an ideal strike partnership. I'd start Vardy over Sterling or Rashford the next match.

Finally the Irish studio team of Didi Hamman, Liam Brady and Richard Dunn have discussed the two HK penalty calls and 100% agreed they were certs.

On a separate note I would like Southgate to ask the other players to stop making human mountains on top of Harry when he scores, too precious to damage.

My gooner mate said he couldn’t cheer when Kane scored the winner. I replied saying that made me even happier. I think he was expecting a bite instead.

I wonder if the Liverpool fans cheered. All the shit they’ve given him this season. I must admit, I went mental when he scored the winner but I think if it had been a player I didn’t like who scored, I would’ve cheered a bit and maybe fist pumped at most. The fact it was Kane sent me wild.

Henderson showed why he is ahead of Dier today with a very mature performance.

Trippier was very good i thought overall. Did well going forwards and no issues defensively.

Young showed why Rose should be starting.

Deserved the win overall i think and Rashford will be forcing Southgate into a decision for the next game as Sterling continues to frustrate at international level.

Very positive. Two goals for Harry, should have been given three penalties, only conceded a very soft penalty. The opposition weren't up to much, but we'll get better ourselves as we play more games.
