Not really, our group was easier than a couple

England would have struggled in group A, B, E and G had they swapped with the top seed

I don't agree with all of those really, and who would you even replace? I think there's just loads of luck really, unless you're Germany.

Justified result. Costa Rica should have had a penalty in normal time, and the sending off was harsh. Greece didn't even contemplate attacking until the red card.

The first place seeds european seeds whom england was one of!

England couldn't beat Mexico and Brazil

England couldn't beat Spain, Chile and Australia

Could England beat Ivory Coast, Columbia and Japan?

England couldn't beat Ecuador, Switzerland and Honduras. They couldn't in qualifying

Im not sure England would get through in a group with Argentina, Nigeria and Iran(especially after the way they played against Argentina)

No point in discussing the Germany, USA and Ghana group

Belguim, Algeria and South Korea. Maybe. Thats only because Belgium rode their luck

The teams in Englands seeding group was
Russia, Bosnia, Netherlands, Greece, France, Portugal and Croatia!

England wouldnt of qualified if they were in any other group except H imo. This england performance has been so bad that I actually got so pissed off that I applied to work for The FA. lol

Shoot. LVG and his always effective substitutions. LVG himself will at least win Manure 10 games next season. He's such a genius.

Huntelaar laid that nice header to give wesly a chance...great sub.

But what won the game was Robben auditioning for Black Swan

I feel my decision to turn in at the end of 90 minutes has been thoroughly vindicated.

I'm not sure about who we might have beaten out of any of those teams. It's all variables. It's all ifs and buts. One thing i do know though is that it's not always the best performances that get you through. Bosnia for example could have easily qualified if their goal had stood against Nigeria, but then who knows how that game might have gone any way even if that goal was allowed. They were also very unlucky with Argentina. To say there were other tough groups is true, but to say how we might have played against those teams is just guess work.

KLM sorry for Mexico tweet after Dutch World Cup win

_75932897_ap_tweet.jpg

Dutch plane operator KLM has apologised for sending out a tweet from its official account making a joke of Mexico's defeat to the Netherlands at the World Cup.

Within minutes of Holland's 2-1 stoppage-time win, the firm published a picture of an airport departures sign under the heading Adios Amigos.

Next to the word Departures was a man with a moustache and sombrero.

The post went viral but was deleted shortly afterwards.

Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal tweeted to tell his two million-plus followers that he would never fly with the carrier again and hundreds of other people complained.

"It was meant to be a joke but there was too much negative reaction," said KLM spokeswoman Lisette Ebeling Koning.

She added that the airline never intended to offend Mexicans, which it serves via a daily flight between Mexico City and Amsterdam.

KLM issued a formal apology late on Sunday.

"In the best of sportsmanship, we offer our heartfelt apologies to those who have been offended by the comment," said Marnix Fruitema, director general of KLM in North America.

Mexican national carrier AeroMexico broadcast its own response on Twitter in support of the country's football team under an arrivals sign.

"Thank you for this great championship," it said. "You've made us proud and we're waiting for you at home."

Just thought I'd have a look at this thread to see what uninformed shit was being spouted. Wasn't disappointed.

Funny how the stats turned out like this when the team playing anti football lost and the team entertaining won:

Costa Rica - Statistic - Greece
6 - Total Shots - 24
2 - Shots on Target - 13
23 - Fouls - 16
43% - Possesion - 57%
3 - Corners - 11
7 - Saves - 0
0 - Offsides - 10
1 - Red - 0
6 - Yellow - 2

I'm quite shocked at the agenda driven bile spouted by some of those who I'd generally thought to be informed posters. Clearly fucking not. I suppose it's easy to be bitter about a side from a coutnry of only ten million who actually produce a team who, despite their limitations, plays with some fight and passion, not to mention unity and cohesion, while you all have to support a bunch of overpaid prima donnas who continually disgrace themselves on the international footballing stage. Greece don't have much by way of superstar players, but they completely outpassed both Ivory Coast (a team with many decorated players including a couple of CL winners, one of whom is the worlds best midfielder) and everyone's darlings Costa Rica (who quite comfortably topped Englands group). Fact is, Greece hit the woodwork three times and Costa Rica's goalie made three magnificent saves (one tipped header over the bar, two with his feet), whereas Costa Rica had two shots on target, one of which went in, completely against the run of play. The Greeks may be unglamourous, but the comments in here are totally unjustified and betray either total ignorance about football, severely entrenched agenda's or severe blindness.

Oh, and at least the Greeks have won a tournament in recent memory, England haven't even gone beyond the quarter finals since 1996, and we did it without needing a dodgy goal in the final.

You know what, you all just reek of jealousy, struggling to accept that little old Greece (as they have done in pretty much every field since the dawn of time) are actually outshining England at something the English are meant to be better at. Oh deary me...
