Imagine starting one of them, have him tire the opponents, then bring the other one on...

If he was cool being walkers apprentice then sure. There isn't anything more to come from naughton, though again fredricks is no slouch either and is probably comparable talent wise to the young American

You have to say, give USA a generation or 2 and with their population and resources they could be a force. Actually SHOULD be a force.

I heard American Football and baseball authorities are desperate the US population doesn't take to soccer. But after watching this they're should be worried, very worried!

I disagree they need to make changes to their youth system and league

Having a large population size doesnt guarantee good footballers. Look at Croatia tiny population and yet shit over england imo

Increased popularity will change plenty. Kids will pick Soccer as an actual sport rather than falling back to it. The sort of athletes that country produces if they can get a few at the same time in this team they will do well.

Has Klinsmann said anything about continuing to manage the USA after the WC or moving to a club?

Interesting words from waddle, said what the US lack in quality they make up for in passion, which was so evident on today's performance alone.
Not wanting to bang the drum any more but that's where England fall down so badly.

Well of the four quarter finals, only the Dutch look like certs to go through. The other three are hard to call.

Brazil - Colombia is the one I'm looking forward to most of all, should be an absolute epic.

They will do well but they wont be great until they get rid of the franchise system and let clubs have academies

True but the way their league it setup they would be better leaving soon than to stay in the NASL or MLS

Maybe the more older pros get involved the more they will make adjustments, wouldn't be sad to see them do well on tonight's performance. A typical "leave it all on the pitch" performance. In general I like the yanks attitude to team games.

But the Yanks will argue that it works in their other sports, so why not this one.

I keep watching games and thinking, wow, that is going to be hard to beat, but then along comes the next game and it just keeps getting better.
