Because the cup isn't lifted until the final is won. He was in the squad, yes he played but not in the final. I don't believe he even got a medal until many years afterwards because the winners' medals were only given to the players actually playing in the final.
In my eyes, he will always be a winner and the fact that he was left out of the final was a huge disappointment for him and for all Spurs supporters.

I am going for Brazil to win... a very very ugly win.
expecting a new hero for brazil to turn up, maybe a fred or hulk... heck maybe pauli will wake up and make the difference.
very cagey match, may come down to poor referring decision that turns the game on its head, but i expect brazil to scrape through.

It's interesting going into this game wanting Germany to win, but I've just been so unimpressed with Brazil so far both in terms of their play and in terms of their fouling/getting lucky decisions.

He did, none of those players played for Spurs at the time of winning their respective WCs I don't think.
