I really wish they would get rid of the 3rd/4th place play off game. One of the most pointless games ever, imo.

I mean, at this level, in this tournament, it is all about winning. You come first or you come nowhere. Does anyone really give a fuck if they finish 3rd or 4th?!

Agree that it's meaningless. I can see Brazil winning this one by hook or by crook. If things don't fall for them, they'll resort to clobbering the opposition in order to win. Another loss will see riots.

Normally this game would be pointless, yes, but I think we kinda have a unique situation here.

Imagine if the Dutch go out and spank Brazil again? Wouldn't that be awesome?

Oh the jolly japes all-round. Espesh, here on SC. :)

So, how many of you guys will be watching this game?

Just wondering as I haven't seen that many of the 3rd play games over the years.

I just came back from a 10K hike in the forests and showered. Nothing else to do but to put my feet up and wait for it.

I thought Van Gaal was going to rest a few players, but instead he's going pretty much full strength! Surprising with all the minutes they've played so far

Very surprised by the Dutch line after the amount of minutes they've played this week - 120 against Costa Rica and Argentina with little recovery time - and then LVG slamming this third place play off game.

Strange.

For the Irish people, the guys who do Après match are doing the coverage on RTE for the match. :D

I'll be watching.

However, it's annoying that it clashes with all four hours back-to-back of the original 1990 House of Cards series and it's really good. I did see it first time around all those years ago and am now working my way through the US series with Kevin Spacey in the lead role.

So, it had better be a good game and I want Holland to win.
