Negrado and Navas have been dropped from Spain's squad today. Torres and Costa got the nod over Negrado which I find a little surprising considering Torres has not been any better and Costa is struggling to be fit. But of course Spain might not play with any strikers anyway!

Pity we can't take them in the England squad.

Del Bosque is a tit for taking Torres over Negredo. Did Llorente make the squad?

Crazy. Llorente has been the bollocks for Juve this year and Negredo is a very good striker. Spain, like Barca, are obsessed with having no plan B and I hope they regret it. Glad I'm not Spanish or else I'd be fuming. Torres gives you nothing these days.

I think Negredo got a bad shoulder injury mid season and hasn’t been the same player since. He seems to have lost the power which pretty much makes him the player he is and allows him to destroy teams, like he did us in November.
Torres’ career has just drifted since he joined Chelsea but he still shows glimpses of class and is a far more agile and canny player on his day than Negredo.

Schmelzer, Mustafi and Volland out of germanys squad.

Full back positions big worry

Lahm can play there I suppose, but he obviously thought Durm was good yesterday - which tbf, he was. Going in to a tournament with only one centre forward still seems ridiculous to me though. More of Guardiola's negative effect on German football on display

Mate, hate to break it to you but nobody watches Serie A so it doesnt matter if Llorente was the player of the season, as far as Del Bosque is concerned it never happened:whistle:

Fair enough, still doesn't account for Llorente though, who has been excellent this season. Far better than Torres has been.

Silly. It may not be a popular league, and lacks the money of a few others, but it's far better than people give it credit for, and has some excellent players plying their trade there.

The thing is the big clubs(excusing Juve of course;)) are in a state at the moment and so people don't really care as a result of it

Del Bosque trusts Torres that is the thing. He has never regularly selected Llorente regardless of his performances. The decision to leave out Tevez from Argentina was much more shocking in my view.

Italy not Taking Maggio was an odd one too. Even though I dont particularly rate him he has a big reputation.

Luongo made the final 23 for Australia. So happy for him!

Great news for him

That team for Australia is horribly poor though.... I say that with all due respect and in all honesty - I'm Australian. It's goingt o be a blood bath for Australia this time around. Only 1 defender in the squad with more than 10 caps... and we we have Spain, Netherlands and Chile in our group. We're going to get bageled. It'll read something like this by the end of the pool stage

Australia - played 3, lost 3, zero points. Goals for 0, goals against 10, goal difference -10

And to think I'm feeleing positive today

Only 10 against is a bit generous :p
