Anyone watching?

Nice to see a black man finally at The Crucible in the shape of Rory McLeod.

Stuck a little bit on Ronnie O Sullivan. Boyle were offering money back on any single is Selby wins... so got Ronnie with the fallback of Selby.

Ronnie started off brilliantly. Hit a 140 in his second frame.

Any snooker players on SC?

I'll be watching it. Should be good because there's a good few who could win it. I reckon Selby will win it this year, although I'm not sure if he is in form this season or not. Ronnie and Higgins will be tough to beat though. I don't care who wins really as long as Murphy doesn't win it. Can't stand him for some reason.

I play the odd time myself, but I'm not great. My safety play is good though :)

I play snooker. Nowhere near as much as I like. I tend to play pool as its much easier to find a partner.

Not had chance to see the snooker yet today, i'l catch up later. Seems like O'Sullivan's head's in it which is nice. Also nice to see the nugget still hanging in there. I do love him.

I often play Snooker, but its such a shame to see on the news that the snooker sport is suffering because of lack of funds. Apparently the people that the run the 'Snooker Association'??? a right twats and don't run it properly..

It needs a total overhaul imo. There is some truth in what Ronnie O'Sullivan said about snooker dying and needing a Barry Hearn type character to come in and revamp the whole sport like what Sky did with the darts. New formats, new tournaments, higher prize money.

Another problem is that you can't go on the beer during a snooker match and have a laugh with your mates like at the darts so it'll always suffer from that.

He's done it already hasn't he? He made it massive in the 80's/90's. Sure he was the man behind it. Still runs matchroom I think.

I heard they were creating a sort of 20/20 snooker. 6 reds, 6 colours, fixed shot times, etc. Not sure what's going to be done about it.

Yeah, I remember them saying something about it on fivelive a while back. Not sure what it'll do. Love my snooker. But the problem is I only really tune in to the World Championships. No real rivalries any more either. The youngster Judd Trump is an exciting player and seems to have a little 'attitude' about him. Expect big things from him in the near future. Just missed out on the worlds this year.

Hendry hits a 147. Sublime.

What would you rather do? 9-darter. Hole in 1. Or a 147?

Maximum for me!

I used to hate Hendry but now he doesn't dominate so much I don't mind him and it's always good to see a 147 regardless of who gets it.

9 darter's used to be the rarest of the lot due to there being next to no major darts tournaments until Sky came in and now they're common enough.

Ronnie's 147 in 5 mins and whatever was phenomenal - will never be beaten.

Hole's in one - meh - see them most tournaments now.

For an adrenalin rush the 9 darter is my pick, it happens so quick, but for tension it has to be the 147.

Has to be a 147 for me.

Hole-in-one does require a bit of luck given the nature.
9 dart finish requires 9 great pieces of skill.
A 147 requires 36 consecutive shots of pure skill to accomplish

Just seen it. Was brilliant. Made hard work of it though. Two plants including a 3 ball plant and a tough pink which wasn't as hard as it looked.

The 3-ball was quality. Should have potted it, but under the pressure.

For me the final black was the best of the lot. Under that pressure! It wobbled in.
