Was at the lane today and was so disappointed with the performance, despite the fact i thought the ref was awful, wigan were poor (despite the tactics being spot on, love them or hate them), we just seemed to have no spark and created so little. Anyway, me and my mate agreed that it could possibly go down as one of the worst performances at the lane for probably 4 or 5 seasons, for lack of spark and chances created. Sunderland away last season was shocking as i remember in the last year or two but wanted to see if others agree?

I don't think Wigan were poor. Despite their small-team thinking with the time-wasting, etc. they were the better team and fully deserved the victory. The Lane was just odd from the start today. Could have probably done with a few more away fans or something. We all need to step it up before we can lay the blame solely at the feet of the players.

I thought Wigan played well. Loved the way they were playing one touch passes and moving the ball up. They were also pressing well.

We just had the mentality that we were going to win and win easy.

not blaming the players or any factor specifically, it was just hard to remember a game at the lane where so few chances were created, from either team deserved or not, and we looked so short of ideas. im a patient man when it comes to football, i still expect avb to succeed and will be given time im sure, but today was very poor, and couldnt think of a game at the lane that was any worse

The 1-5 loss to Man City last season stung a bit, but when you look at the difference in quality between Man City and Wigan todays loss certainly ranks up there in the top 3.

The 1-2 loss vs Norwich last season was pretty horrible too and that is probably my number 1; although todays performance was worse, there was arguably much more at stake when we lost the game vs Norwich. It was a game we had to win, after throwing away the 12 point lead we had on Arsenal but we went on to be outplayed by Norwich and lost 1-2.

all of the home games this season have been horrible, not a single 1st half goal by spurs at the lane in 6 games.

i have joked today that i could stay in the pub until half time and turn up for the 2nd half....although not quite correct for todays game

At least AVB had the honesty to say it was the worst performance of the season, unlike Mr Wenger who thought his team had the better chances against UTD even though their first shot on target was in the 90th minute.:(

Worst 1st half performance I've seen at WHL since the 2004 season which started with Santini in charge

We've been spoilt with BMJ and H and some of the ball players we've had in the not so recent past

I was there too and it really was terrible. Wigan didn't play badly but they weren't the main reason we came away with nothing - that's down to the complete lack of creativity in our team.

Dembele creates opportunities because of the way we play, but he isn't a creative player. Who else is there? Oh wait that's right...we sold both our creative players in the Summer and brought in Dempsey and Sigurdsson, who I'm sorry to say look like downgrades on Kranjcar an Pienaar...let alone Modric and VDV.

I would say that this game is the worst Spurs game i have ever witness... At the moment i feels like my soul have left my boddy and will not come back until AVB leaves. Have never felt so bad after a game ever. Last year where the club on the top but AVB have ruined everything that we have built during all this years. Want Harry back.

If the fans are there or not it means fuck all to be honest. The under 21's smashed Newcastle with what I can only assume was a poor crowd. If the players are better then the excuse that the crowd wasn't good enough is bullshit

If the Crowd is the reason for the wins then why charge so much to get in? It's a joke that the crowd even becomes an excuse.

A good atmosphere can't guarantee a win but a crowd booing from the first 10 minutes is definitely going to have a detrimental effect on the players. Wigan must have been delighted our crowd had become their 12th man.

It was like the team turned up for an extra training session and actually didn't want to be there

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Jamie is that you?....

havnt seen any of the game, so cant comment on specifics, but it cant be a coincidence that our performances are better away, our fans have managed to turn the lane from a rocking fortress into an intimidating place for our own team, now the team hold some of that responsibility but the uneasy atmosphere from the get go cant help.

Also we have to get rid of this Reknappisia our fans still have. Harry did well for us, no doubt, but he also had the most talanted squad we had since i began supporting spurs in the late 80s and probably before and didnt win a thing but even fans that didnt want him got behind him, but for some reason since our first home game the fans have been on the teams back.

Performance wss obviously bad, no one can be happy with that, but lets not rose tint it, there have been a few, i remeber i went to see us at home vs Fulham i think in the 2010/2011 season which was so bad, and that was the time we were wining plaudits for our style, it happens, we move on.

You must be in the West Stand! I was pleasantly surprised that it took about half an hour before the South Upper became seriously pissed off. I've never ever booed but if ever there was a time it was in that first half

The 2nd half at Southampton, the whole game at Norwich and the first half v Wigan must be the worst run of performances since the George Graham days

I agree that this is part of it. The Lane is not a fortress at all this season - instead it's a pressure cooker atmosphere created by a frustrated crowd that understandably want to see why a team that last season were (at least for 2/3rds of it) playing exciting, successful football, has now been dismantled.

I think another part of it is that AVB simply doesn't know how to set up the team when we're at home. Away from home he's in his element as he can study the opposition and set us up to counter their tactics. He knows the emphasis is on the home team to play their own game and go on the attack, and that plays into AVB's hands. However when Spurs are the home team he doesn't seem to be as comfortable creating a style of play that is specifically ours. People talk about the importance of imposing 'our own game' on the opposition, but so far under AVB we don't seem to have our own way of playing. Instead we are set up to react to the opposition.

In many ways it's like the reverse of Harry's tactics. With Harry he generally set the team up one of two ways - wide players and one striker up top, or two strikers up top. He kept it simple and looked for us to play the same way every game. As we all know, this meant that on some occasions we dropped points due to failing to adapt to the opposition when our normal way of playing wasn't going to work. With AVB we seem to try and adapt to the opposition in every game. As I say - away from home this would work more often than not, but when we get back to the Lane we seem to lack any sort of tactical identity of our own.

I've no idea how what I said gave you clues as to where I sit but you're wrong anyway!
