Would Arshavin fit into Tottenham team?

He plays Attacking mid, right mid, or up front doesn't he? Shame he's not left footed. If Lennon goes he'd be a great replacement.

I'm pretty sure he can play with both feet, and generally he plays on the right or left but he can play as a striker. He's got it all, we should get him...

I would imagine the scouts who work for Sports Interactive have watched Arshavin play alot more than you. Anyway..............................

 Well, maybe so, only really watched full games of him a ten times or so, and wasn't speculating about his present position, more where he would fit in our team. And wasn't saying you were wrong either. You just wrote it in such a way that it looked a obvious take from Football Manager.

And Christ on a bicycle, you play with Arsenal ?????

Eh?

Never played with Ar5ena1 in my life, it's just not cricket.

I was merely pointing out that FM isn't such a bad resource for researching player. Alot of people on here like to shoot it down as soon as it comes up. Personally I feel SI go to alot of trouble to try to make their database as accurate as possible by hiring scouts all over the world to report back with accurate player reports, hense it being a management 'simulation' game. Therefore they should be given a little more credit for their efforts. Especially given that none of us on here are proffesional scouts(as far as I know), so would not necessarily know what to look for besides the obvious attributes.

I dont see why he couldn't be a success in Steeds role, similar to Pires as someone said earlier. He's got a fair bit of pace as well by the looks of the vid which Steed severely lacks.

I agree and have said so myself many times. It's not really any worse than some random popping up on here and saying "yeah, I've seen him play a few times, here's my take..." It's just someone's opinion. That's all I'm really after when we're linked with someone I don't know that much about. You just don't have to take it as gospel.

Aaah, was guessing you got the screenshot from your own game.. as the guy playing that game, Aaron Wood is playing with Arsenal.. Pardon!

And I actually agree that one actually can find lots of interesting info from FM, as long as you take it for what it is and don't only use that as a source.

And totally agree on the Pires likeness, and could just like that prick be a huge success, just hope he will be it with us!

Another Russian player who looks top notch is Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

Anyone seen much of him?
He's not bad to be honest just looks a little lazy to me the couple of times I have seen him when he has needed to track back with the opposing full-back.

Much prefer Yuri Zhirkov, who is all action and will keep running the whole match with a pretty good set-piece and a sweet left foot. Though I might very well be biased, CSKA are my Russian team.

I agree. Zhirik is much more valuable player. Bilya is so inconsistent, though not without talent.

I think he'd fit perfectly into our squad. Great player and Zenit were fantastic the other night.

Marvelous player from what I've seen of him in the UEFA, for Russia and on Eurosport. I've seen a little bit of Zenit this season - tipped them for at least semis of the Wafer before group stage - and he is their star man. If Keggy wants Lennon, then AA would be a wonderful replacement, a genuine upgrade in terms of creativity, and probably cost less.

Anything Dutch is good for you

Though good he is it's about Arshavin

I was day-dreaming about Arshavin on the right and Diego Capel on the right yesterday. Drop someone like David Albelda into the CM mix with JJ and THudd, and I think we might just have ourselves a midfield.

I am afraid it's impossible to limit his role to playing on right wing. In the last 3-4 years he's become like creative director for Zenit and national team as well.
It would be a terrible waste to limit his freedom on the pitch.

Fair enough. The same could go for Capel. And in a Ramos system, maybe both could work with a more disciplined, deeper central pairing at the base of midfield.

If that came off, I, well I don't know what I'd do, but it would probably involve lots of orgasms.

Yeah, sounds good. But do you believe in Capel signing?

I am impressed with him too. With creative players like these two you need very solid centre midfield.
Hargreaves - Essien calibre would be great imo.

BTW if you have a chance I recommend you watch Zenit v Bayer second leg on Thursday 17-30 GMT. It's on ITV4 and on http://www.myp2p.eu/index.htm
Pay attention to Zenit captain Timoschuk N44. He's holding mid, takes no prisoners. I wish he played for Spurs instead of Zokora. He's captain of Ukraine as well.
