Will he get a chance though? Shame but I don't see it happening.

No doubt AVB's kept an eye on him during his loan spell. Now it's down to what he does in training to impress the manager. There's certainly a place in our team for a player like him with his skillset and vision.

Being the best player in the Spanish league 2 would arguably make him the Spanish equivalent to the likes of Tom Ince, Wilfred Zaha and Vydra. (Cue a barrage of comments stating how the Championship is a much stronger league! ;) )

I think it might be, but that doesn't mean the best players in the Championship are better than the best in la Segunda. Many future Barca stars from La Masia play in the Segunda :)

Agree championship has stronger/more quality teams overall but Segunda has alot of teams that play the right way tactically and alot more future stars or players with potential.

Big games for Yago, Almeria's last 3 games of the season are against their rivals for the second spot!

Last week they beat Alcorcon 3 nil away, which effectively knocked them out of the race for 2nd as the other 2 teams won but heres table atm

2. Villarreal 71points GD +26 GS 64
3. Almeria 71 points GD +22 GS 70
4. Girona 70 points
5. Alcorcon 66 points

If Alcorcon did win the four teams would of been separated by 3 points. Almeria will play Girona today in their last home game and play Villarreal away on the last day!

Villarreal and Almeria drew earlier in the season and Almeria beat Girona in the first match, this is important as teams on level points are decided by Head to Head than Goal Difference and then Goal scored. So if Villarreal and Almeria win than it will be a very interesting last day. Also affects Swansea and Apparently as they are after De Guzman, who is on loan from Villarreal and them getting promoted will probably mean they want him back!

Villareal and Almeria both won - so that last game will be crucial for both.
Indeed and Almeria need a win away to go up otherwise Villarreal go through on Goal difference

Heres some tweets
Seville has been linked with Deigo Castro and this guy wants "@ VMScom man come where we go with this guy! The replacement should be Cristian Tello or iago Almeria Falque's not that"

Leisure at the game in the Mediterranean, the best I think for me Falqué Iago, Acuña and Sanchón among others ...

How good is Iago Falque - Real Sociedad fan

Iago Falqué has more endangered than a box of bombs ... - Girona/Valencia fan

The Falqué Iago has no name, what if crack

Ok the tweets this week has been weird like
Request the hand of the Iago Falque, the romance of the 2nd division.

IT sounds as if Falque had a good time at Almeria, and hope that we try to utilize him in the pre-season at least. Before coming to us, Iago had been loaned out almost continually depsite being owned by Madrid (I think) and Juventus. I fear we're just going to keep loaning him out and eventually sell him for less than we should, as we originally signed him just so it could make loaning Krasic from Juventus possible, as Iago was already on loan to us from there at the time.

As far as progression some alarm bells might of been rang when he went back to Segunda last season but from another point of view he could still turn out to be a awesome player within a year!

Here is a list of players who have done well in La Liga the season after despite no longer being under 20
Michu
2010/11 (23/24 years old) Segunda Celta Viga 34 games 7 goals
2011/12 La Liga Rayo Vallecano 39 games 17 goals
2012/13 PL Swansea 42 games 22 goals

Iago Aspas
2011/12 (23 y.o.) Segunda Celta Vigo 38 games 25 goals
2012/13 La Liga Celta Vigo 37 games 12 goals

Piti this season at the age of 31 scored 18 goals in 35 games

As well as one or two other that I forgot

Be interesting to see if Falque stays with Almeria (on loan ?) now they are caertain to be on La Ligua next season

Think Almeria would probably like to consider that too.

Would be good to see Falquw playing regularly in La Ligua too

I felt he should of gone to a top ten la liga team this season and everybody in spain have echoed that.

He recently said in a paper when talking about england and his old teammate thiago that you have to learn the language otherwise you will find it difficult and it seemed this was in reference to his loan at southampton

As whether he will stay next season, he is a player that is great when you can get him the ball and Almeria counter attack a lot, so a better team may suit him better. Possibly a return to villarreal or Galicia. Perhaps even Malaga or Seville as both squads are being asset stripped
