in a team with no confidence he was getting into all the right areas, areas he likes to receive the ball and do his stuff, but no one had the confidence to give him the ball in those between the lines areas, it's the type of ball that Modric/VDV receive all the time.

He was stuck out left first half, i believe this is his least favourite position... moved right second, but the players around him were poor tonight, too many touches before they even look for a pass. It was a fast and furious game and the ball spent much of the time in the air. showed some nice touches but the pace looked like it shocked him a bit.

Because he couldn't get involved because Southampton couldn't play passes he was asking for inbetween the lines

I'm suprised Southampton are so high up the league watching them, Yago really didn't get the service he needed.

I watched the first half and I was a little disappointed as he couldn't get involved much but probably not his fault as I don't think he can play left mid in a 4-4-2. Maybe that was a bad game for saints I know they were missing a couple of players and Lallana has always impressed me when I've seen him play. But the big guy they had up front was awful, horrible first touch.

I noticed Falque trying to make some decent runs but he seemed to be on a different wavelength to the rest of the team who were playing more direct especially after going a goal down.

It might have been better to bring him on 2nd half for this game so he could see the flow of the game.

I watched the game my eldests boyfriend is a saints fan.
Saints were shit, they couldnt play any football and started lumping it to the tall brazilian chap who couldnt control or pass, even my dauhgters boyfriend was bemused.
Falque played well when he had the ball and nutmegged a couple of players too, he seemed alittle confuzzled as i think he was under the impression Saints passed the ball about.

Unless Soton get their act together it doesn't sound as if his game will improve technically by being there unless their Manager decides to reshape the team around him and instruct his players to give him the ball at every opportunity.

From the local reaction, that was Saints' worst performance of the season. Not the football they usually play.

So's your face!

That's true.

Not sure how good Falque will be. Southampton are a good side but are really struggling at the moment. Going with what they had that got them 2nd might be the safest option for now. A couple of weeks training with his new team mates might be best before getting in the team.

Not sure Saints are "struggling" exactly, given that they're 2nd.

Falque was again not even on the bench tonight, in a cup game they weren't particularly fussed about winning. These are not promising signs...

Is it possible we restricted him from playing in a competition we are still involved in, given that we could in fact recall him so wouldn't want him cup-tied?
