Reading Hercules's post about a French based €10m punt, could this be the guy? Linked earlier this summer for around that fee I think. RWF with pace.
Just a guess.

Video I saw, I'd agree. Pace to burn, nice cross, decent control, not bad finishing. Raw still. 6ft1, so got some presence about him too.

And a very educated guess, I'd say. Fits the Levy profile of Young, cheap and re-sellable. Looking at the clip, he's what I expected GKN to be. Lost the ball a lot on his dribbles and seems as one-footed as Lamela, though.

Yep or potentially marcel who we've been linked with earlier in the summer. This guy sounds better but he also sounds like he'd cost more than 10m?

Maybe that's the reality of our business model. This time we have a head scout who's area of expertise is French football, maybe that's the difference. This guy does at least seem physically bigger and more suited to PL football.
It's about identifying the Ousmane Dembeles of this world whilst still at Rennes and valued accordingly, rather than twelve months later and valued over €100m. If we try it with 3/4/5 players and even one is a success, then it's been worth it. Njie didn't go for a huge loss in reality, Nkoudou is still with us too.

As a player labelled as potentially the next Ousmane Dembele, at circa £10m, seeing what Dembele has just joined Barca for, after only one season in the Bundesliga, is this not worth investigating? Hopefully Hitchen if is as all over the French leagues as reported, we'll know.
This is where there's a gap between realism and what the fans expect. Fans are drooling over maybe signing Martial, and would probably dismiss signing someone like Karamoh as Levy being tight, but equally if Karamoh went to Germany this summer for £10m, and next summer was the new £100m Dembele, the fans would complain 'why don't we get these players in'.
Gotta find that balance. Comes from having a scouting setup that know their stuff and are trusted.
Would here even be some mileage in buying him anyway, same as it seems we're doing with Foyth?

Levy must wake up every night in agonizing pain over our having pssed on Ousmane Dembele at £5 million because we wanted him to take a trial....
