Yaya Toure's agent claims his client will be playing in England next season, with a deal already agreed.

The Barcelona midfielder's representative has refused to state with which club an agreement has been struck, but the Ivorian has been strongly linked with Manchester City of late.

The Blues, who already boast Toure's brother Kolo on their books, are believed to be leading the race for his signature, keen to add some much-needed steel in the centre of the park.

The Barca ace has, however, attracted interest from Manchester United and Arsenal in the past, so it is far from certain that he will be turning out at Eastlands next season.

"If everything goes well, Yaya will go to England," Toure's agent, Dimitri Seluk, told Ona FM.

"But we can't talk about definite clubs. We already have a closed deal, and all will be resolved before the World Cup."

Toure joined Barca from Monaco in 2007 and quickly became an integral part of their side, patrolling the area in front of the back four.

Price tag

He has landed six major trophies during his time at Camp Nou, but has fallen down the pecking order over recent seasons.

Some reports have suggested that he could be used as a makeweight in Barca's protracted efforts to lure Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas back to Catalunya.

That may provide his best route out of the Primera Liga giants, as an asking price of around €36million (£30m) could scare off some potential suitors.

Seluk added: "It seems to me too much money. His club have shown they want him to leave, it's not normal that they're asking for this amount.

"If (Barca president Joan Laporta) likes Toure so much, he could have explained why he didn't play so much.

"This year we haven't spoken to him even one time, and if he leaves it's because that was lacking."

I was just about to come in here and post this. Big news if true, very, very good player.
City already have De Jong so I'm not really sure it's what they need.

He is exactly what arsenal need and would make a hell of a difference to them.

Hopefully it's not Arsenal - although if it is Fabregas will definitely be off.

Chelsea were rumoured to have made a £17m bid a few weeks ago.

Sounds solid to me, it's a fact Pep is scared of people over 6ft tall and so Toure on his way makes sense. Expect to see Ibrahimaovic, Abidal and Pique out next.

I wouldnt have minded him at Spurs but not for the money mentioned. Also im not sure how he would fit in either as we seem to have a number of centre midfielders at the club at the moment.

Big blow for us if he ends up at man city. Would transform
their midfield instantly.
Much better for us if he goes to the goons, utd or Chelsea IMO.

nope pep wants to prove that his guy(busquets) from la masia and barca atletic is a better player(so far hes not)

Ibra next to go.

josep maria bartoemu rosells vice president gave an interview today on rac. he said signing fabregas should be simple as a)the player has stated publically he wants to come b) he is from la masia.

I cannot see how fabregas is not a Barca player come August 31st

Doubt it...their problem last year was they had no creative players in the centre of midfield with de jong and barry. Buying another defensive midfielder isnt going to change that.

He's a great player but I don't mind if he goes to Citeh, overloading them with defensive midfielders and an Italian manager means they will still draw too many games next year.

Yaya Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk believes the midfielder could be part of the deal to bring Cesc Fabregas back to Camp Nou.

The Barcelona player had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City, captained by older brother Kolo.

Seluk insisted last week that a deal had already been agreed with an un-named English club, but now says his client could form part of the Fabregas deal.

Interest

He told Rac-1: "There's a lot of interest in the deal (for Toure).

"Arsene Wenger

likes him and Arsenal

are interested.

"If the conditions are good, everything can be finished soon.

"He could come into the Cesc deal and Barca and Arsenal are struggling to come to an agreement.

"Everything has changed with City, because they talk a lot but then afterwards they don't appear to be a rich club but rather a bankrupt one."

Meanwhile, the Catalans confirmed on Monday that they have slapped a €35million (£29m) price-tag on Toure, something which Seluk last week insisted was too high.

While Barca president Joan Laporta

is resigned to letting Toure go, he feels Arsenal must be prepared to do the same with Fabregas.
