I know, I know, I know....Newcastle would demand a fortune for him, but what a cracking replacement he could be for Modric - not like for like, nevertheless this guy is a class act (get him in before we sell Modders ;))

Imagine Blanc was coming and our targets were Lloris, Cabaye and Remy - ok getting away ahead of myself, but I think Cabaye would be a cracking tweak to our team if we lose Modric this summer.

Sure he would be 20 million minimum, but a player I feel who would turn out to be worth every penny.

Has there been a link? or is this just a wish list type post?

I actually think he and Cisse perfectly illustrate how Newcastle were getting things right in the last few seasons while we lost our way and were no longer making this type of signing as we chanced Rossi and Aguero and signed the likes of Gallas and Parker instead (who while good in their own right do not have the long term value of Modric or Bale and indeed Ben Arfa or Caybaye)

Yessssss pleaaaaaase. Him or Dembele would be ideal.

A tear came to my eye though when I saw Madrid rumours in papers.. Modric is a beautiful player and I fear without him and Redknapp our beautiful football will cease to exist. But at least we have Rafa, if he goes my heart will well and truly smashed into pieces!

Which is still wrong. It should be in General Football and you can talk about how good or not good he is in there otherwise we'd get new threads in Spurs chat about to go with everyones wishlist.

Sell Modric for a huge sum, buy Cabaye and another player to replace him. 2 for 1. Sounds good to me.

Not that it would happen, but I'd love to see Cabaye in a Spurs shirt.

I cant see Levy spending 20mill on a 26 year old who would have little resale value in 3/4 years

I can. Little resale at 29/30? For a midfielder? what are you smoking?

26 is young!

well it would be around 8 to 12 mill imo and it would also be to a club a level down and not up imo

Very good player. I would rather that we scouted around and picked up the 'next Cabaye' for a couple of million though rather than forking out shedloads on the established player.

Didn't he cost less than Parker? Fantastic signing. Funny thing is he wasn't plucked from obscurity he was the captain of he French champions! That said I still hadn't heard of him.

The more I watch him play the more impressed I become with him. Dictated alot of the Newcastle games I seen last season, and looks a key figure for the French national team now.
