Being born in 81, to a lifelong family of spurs supporters, I got to see my beloved team turn spectacuarly from one of the big 5 and a team expected to win something on a regular basis, to mediocrity of the mid 90's onwards. Reguarly enduring being the laughing stock of Arsenal and Man U supporting team mates, even the one Chelsea supporter in my year would reguarly taunt me in the late 90's.

After seeing Alan Sugar wade in and rescue us from the brink of bankruptcy and then declare that we would win the premier league in within 3 years I assumed that our beloved club was back on track, however aside from balancing the books, the only thing Sugar managed to achieve was to ensure that nobody, especially Carlos Kickaballs wanted to come to Spurs, I remeber once waiting all summer long for those much needed 'big' players to arrive at Spurs, instead Gerry Francis admitted that he tries to pursuade something like 19 targets to come to Tottenham, and basically nobody was interested.

Then comes ENIC and Daniel Levy. It was a slow start, the appointment of everybodies favourite looked good, but went a little wrong. Danny then went scouring Europe, talking to the top clubs and finding out how they did it, the man did some serious homework basically. He returned to Tottenham with Frank Arnesen. The bonus of that meant Pleat was gone! then it started to happen. For the first time I can remember we started to sign players we needed. Sean Davis and Pedro Mendes started well and ensured our ageing and weak midfield was stengthened 10 fold, not orld class players but good players to start a revolution.

Now after ENICS investment and Levy's determination to get us back into Europe, here we are two seasons in the Uefa cup, through our league position.

Dont get me wrong, I like Martin Jol, I didnt feel he could take us further, but the fact that he understood the fans and felt passionately about the club kind of balanced that out. I will never codone the way he was treated plain and simply he didnt deserve that.

But what has impresses me wether this or wrong or not is that Ramos, who appears to be a man of principle and a man of his word, had given his word that he would stay with Sevilla until the end of this season. Mr Levy did not let that stop him, as far as he was concerened Juande Ramos was the man for the job so he went a got him and that to me is impressive.

I think we should look hard at where the club was before ENIC took over and although recen have seemed a little out of touch, the club I love are again competing where they should be. To me that is the most important thing
