Sat in row 2 of the south stand tonight and watched Micheal Dawson put in a display worthy of his ability and reputation. We all know he's had a torrid season culminating in a woeful display at St James. But he looked excellent tonight albeit against limited opposition, but the quicker he is back to his best the quicker we motor up the table. We were quick to critisize lets commend an competent perfomance.

Same as above but read ROBBO

He did put in a much better performance tonight. Especially once Kaboul was taken off and Chimbs moved to CB. Kaboul is a bit of a liability in some games and has got plenty to learn. Lets hope Ledley is back real soon so he can pass on some knowledge and give us well needed steel at the back.

yeah seemed dawson had a very good game, im looking forward to seeing king back there with him, hopefully no more silly goals will be going in and we become more solid, at least we had a clean sheet. Something chelsea didnt get against leicester and chelsea are meant to be a champs league team who played with a pretty strong team.

There was an improvement over previous performances, but his lack of pace is a continual worry. He was firmer in his tackles and headers, but some of his positioning was poor. He certainly improved after Kaboul went off and Chimbonda moved to centre back, but then I suspect that Kaboul would have improved had Dawson been taken off and Chimbonda had replaced him. Chimbonda himself was dominant at centre back but casual at right back. It seems that Dawson only really plays well when King is beside him, and I think this is because both he and Kaboul need a dominant personality beside them. Dawson has often been touted as a leader, but to my eye, he needs to be led, or at least to feel secure.

he's getting better, some of his blocks were great, it will take time but he's looking better, looked so good in the 2nd half and it will only help his confidence

I made a tounge in cheek comment about Kaboul being the new Boumsong when we first bought him.....he's been very suspect everytime I've seen him this year.

He definitley has the physical tools to be a decent player let's hope that a bit of decent coaching can moul him into a defender

He played better but you have to remember that it was against blackpool and our defence still managed to let them have lots of shots on goal.

The only thing I really think someone has spoken to him about is hoofing the ball upfield.. He didnt do it once, thank god!!

He made a couple of decent blocks, he didn't play that well.
