WATFORD'S Ashley Young has rejected a £9.65million move to West Ham United.

Young is also attracting the interest of numerous Premiership clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

The Hammers were confident of landing the England Under-21 international after agreeing an initial £8million fee with a further £1.65million in extra fees.

It has reported that Young rejected the chance to discuss personal terms at Upton Park as he seeks a move to a bigger, move established Premiership club rather than a fellow top-flight struggler.

not a surprise, no point jumping from a sinking ship on to another sinking ship. If he goes it will be to a club that will def give him prem football next season.

welcome to White Hart Lane Mr Young!!!

thats far to much money for him. nearly 10 million! whats he done to justify that price tag???? he aint worth it

The kids good, but Im struggling to understnad why he is worth so much. Lennon was £1m. Hudd was £2.5m. Hell, Steed was £3m.... and he is premiership proven. All Young has in 6months top flight whippings experience!!
Still, he is a talent... and recognises that Wet Spam arent the way forward. Get the feeling young Mr Young and young Mr Davies (SP?) of WBA are both angling for moves to us... Pressuming the Robbo, King, Dawson, Hudd, Jenas, Lennon, Defoe link has served well for us there!!

Watford know that there's absolutely no point in selling Young when there's no chance of getting anyone else in, even armed with a £10m warchest... West Ham have offered the cash but that's not going to help Watford, they need good players to get them out of deep, deep trouble. Assuming, that is, that they haven't given up all hope like they should have by now, and begun preparing for the aftermath.

Either way, he should go now, he ain't going to help them now, and he won't be worth that much this summer I doubt.

...That leaves Tottenham "Makeweights" Hotspur in prime position for Young's signature.

FORGET YOUNG, over rated under played. For the first time in a very long time I get excited by following Big BEar Jols, very insightful player recommendation.....

With him being two footed, and able to play on both wings, himself and lennon could switch within matches, causing great problems for defenders.
I have seen Mcgeady play a few times but here is a youtube link for him

VERY FUCKING GOOD! GREAT INSIGHT CHAP!

When we win trophies we always have a Scot in the team, Loved this video, he seems to have it all, two feet, great tricks and hungry to get back and fight for the team.

    Please FORWARD to Daniel Levy.

I would even go so far as to say, swap Keano for him. " class="inlineimg" />

    More feedback and discussion please....

p.s I´d just tried to sell yoo GMP, forget that get the wee man Mc Geedy, made me mc Giddy!

Worst idea yet. McGeady would be a gamble I think, although I think he has greater vision and playmaking ability than Young.

I don't see the attraction of Young. He has talent, but I don't see him as an improvement on anything we have. We need players with real playmaking ability, not steed/jenas clones.

Aiden Mcgeady = The Scot Robben!

Although I recon Mcgeady is quality player (and i made the recommendation), I still think he would be a gamble, but a gamble that could be very worth our while. However, only a maximum bid of £4m would be a price I would be willing to pay if I was Jol/Commoli/Levy.

And NOWAY would we swap for the Spurs talisman that is KEANO!

I agree, it's too much of a gamble, that much money for a player with only a seasons prem experiance, if you spend that much money you've got to be sure that the player can deliver the goods or he could turn out to be another Simon Davis, bags of potential...never fufilled!

I'll add weight to that. 10 million could be so spent much better. I can't see Spurs spending that kind of money on him. At best he will only turn out to be a player worth 10million. Or will he? For me he hasn't done enough to merit that price tag, even for potential. I prefer to be patient and wait for the right player to become available, preferably in the class of Babel.

If you're going to talk about splashing that kind of moneyof a left winger. I wonder what Blackburn would say to 10million for Pedersen.

On the Davies, Ferdinand bids I think we'd do best right now with a more experienced defender. Someone from whom Dawson and Davenport will learn from, including Ledley. An experienced defender who will lead and inspire our youngsters in our League and Cup run-ins. I think this is something we've probably lacked from the back.
