He might. But my feeling is that we're as likely to see him at the Lane next season as the players are to see Lardy Cake in the canteen.

Mmmm. Lardy Cake.

my feeling 57 is ramos would not push him to leave. if he was to go it would be because he wants to.

depends if he wants to be part of the ramos revoloution.

I think after our good spending in the January transfer market we aren't in as strong a need for first team players as we were. But naturally we should always be looking for improvements.

In:

Tiago £9 mil
Bentley £12 mil
A striker in the Adebayor mould (at a good level when joining but will take a season or so to settle in so wont mind being on the bench for the most part

Out

Gardner £1mil
Stalteri £500k
Chimbonda £6mil only if he wants to leave though
Rocha £1mil once again only if he wants to leave as i can't see him playing much

Put any money we have to see if we can convince a genuine top quality player of any position to join us but if we can't Id be very happy with those signings

If Toulouse do get relegated we might be able to pick up Elmander cheaply...and that would be a great buy.

The reason they're on the slide is that his goals have dried up and no-one else can score.

Doesn't make him a bad player, though. Everybody can go through a rough patch. Either way, his scoring hasn't exactly dried up, he's just inconsistent in his scoring due to the lack of help from midfield.

ChRiStOpHe;. [I said:
Teemu[/I] stays to cover every position, including goalie :)

 thats wicked me and my mum were only saying the other day that Teemu should stay cos he can play/cover practically every position, not quiet sure he could cut it as a goalie though but he would give it a bloody good try knowing him

We would beat anyone with that team. As long as they weren't allowed to field 28 players as well.

I wasn't suggesting that he's a bad player, more the opposite—the only decent one they've got, Emana possibly excepted.

I think we only need 3 players for the 1st 11.

--------------------1------------------
---------------------------------------
Hutton-----Woody-----King----Bale/Gilly
---------------------------------------
Lennon-----Jenas-------2--------3----
---------------------------------------
------------Berba----Keano------------

1. This is a tough one. We need to do one of two things. Either find a young keeper with potential, but who is also ready for 1st team footy now. Or go for an older, more experienced player who is likely to cost less. To go for a keeper who is in their prime now would cost a fortune and I feel we need to spend the majority of funds on other positions.

Toldo could be a good shout as he is not Inter's first choice keeper, or maybe Canizares. If only we'd got Hildebrand before he went to Valencia!

2. We have been crying out for a decent player in this position ever since Carrick left. Zokora has not even filled one of his boots. There are 2 types of defensive midfielder, the deep lying playmaker (Carrick, Pirlo etc) or the aggressive hard tackler (Poulsen, Makelele). I can see Ramos going for the second type as they tend to be more energetic, and we know he likes his centre mids to cover alot of ground.

Perfect for this role would be Cambiasso, but never gonna happen. My realistic suggestions would be Jean II Makoun, Fabien Ernst, Sebastien Kehl, Lucho Gonzalez, Miguel Veloso, Seydou Keita(sp).

3. Ah the old left winger debate. Steed's been awsome this season, full credit to the lad. However his lack of pace lets him down alot. I wouldn't like to see him go though, he would provide alot of options from the bench. I do like the idea of having an attacking midfielder, as opposed to a traditional winger here though. A left footed attacking mid would have the option of going down the wing or cutting inside. Baring in mind though that this type of player is fairly rare, I have suggested wingers as well.

Perfect for this role would be Cristiano Ronaldo. Realistically, Capel sounds good but never seen him play. I'd like to see us try and unearth some south american flair player, not an easy task I know but its worth a punt. Diego would be nice but not sure how he'd like playing on the left.

lol, not at the mo he aint! most are after his head so to speak!

:lol::hump:

van_Pommel, Toldo is a great shout in the keeping role. Would be a great signing.

What about a sort of cross between the Man Utd 4-4-2 and the Chelsea 4-5-1?

I seem to remember Barca playing a not too dissimilar formation in the early 00's.

Bale would have a lot of attacking licence, with Poulsen dropping into the left-back position when he did. Diego would be given the free-role with Jenas and Poulsen protecting him.

Lennon would give us width on the right, as would Hutton. The system could be switched at any time, with Lennon moving to the left, Poulsen and Jenas swapping positions, and the former covering the right-back position while Hutton bombs forward.

When we're defending, Keane would drop into the left-wing position, with Diego dropping back to form the current 4-5-1/4-3-3 variation.

It would be interesting to see if it could work.
