Pretty much my exact comment a few pages ago

great minds fella

Who could resist his silky skills and bubbly personality. He was my idol as a kid.

It's a good thing he was about as the majority of my family come from stratford and are spammers fans so i made a lucky escape.

For the record.....Ask my dad this very question, as a 54 year old supporter since the 60's he rattled off numerous names although when pressed for a single favourite he chose Greaves.

I've been a Spurs fan since early 2005 and can only comment on the players I've actually seen on the pitch. I don't devote myself to any player like so many people do, but I can say that Ledley King has been my favorite, as I didn't pay much attention to a CB's work until I noticed him.

For me it it was always Hoddle. Heard him on the radio this morning actually.

Gazza was great, no doubt, and he had his best years with us. But for me he wasn't 100 per cent a Spurs man like Hoddle.

I also loved Waddle and Richard Gough.

My dad's hero was Greavesie, although Hoddle I think's second.

The only recent player that I've hero-worshipped in same way was Berba. Now I know he left under a cloud, but I think us Spurs fans should forget that and just think ourselves lucky for having him while we did. What a player he was.

Shows that he was also a really decent bloke, although Gazza, Glen and Ginola were great players, but I doubt they would displayed a similar act of solidarity to another human being.

:rofl::rofl:

'Favourite' doesn't necessarily equate with 'best' or even 'good'. You had to love Johnny Pratt for the commitment and effort he put into every performance, even though he was pretty crap.

I couldn't pick one.

Steve Perryman - Mr Tottenham as far as I'm concerned
Gary Mabbutt - as above
Graham Roberts - Just loved his no shit attitude
Glenn Hoddle - The man was born out of his time

I've got loads of mates all around my age who aren't yiddos but have a soft spot for Spurs purely because of Hoddle and growing up at that time. He really was a special player. Makes me wonder how people rate him in terms of best English players of all time. I know he should have won more caps but that doesn't have any bearing i don't think.

For me it's between Hoddle, King and Ollie Skipp.

But if I have to chose it would be Hoddle.

Hoddle all day long. I’ve been going for 45 years now but as someone else posted I don’t think I’ve hero worshipped any player since, not even mildly. He could do things that I’ve seen no other player do since.
