    Hello one and all!

As you all know Spurs Community has undergone a great deal of improvements in the last month or so and we are keen to carry on improving the site for everybody.

One thing that we are hoping to do is to increase the involvement of you, the glorious posters, in the output of the site, and we think the best way to achieve this is to get people involved in writing articles/columns.

Basically Rob is looking to improve the system for submitting articles to make it easier and more efficient, however this will all be futile if we don't have any columnists.

We have a vast array of knowledgable spurs fans posting on this forum, so I am confident that many of you will wish to use your powers for good and help us in this crusade.

So firstly who is interested in writing some articles every now and again on whatever spurs-related subject you wish? And secondly, and more importantly, who would be interested in becoming a regular columnist for Spurs Community?

If you're interested please post in here, or pm a moderator, and the same goes if people have any further suggestions for columns or articles.

Thanks one and all...I know you'll do us proud.

    How much you paying ?
  2. Rob
    100 vcash per article?

Seriously though, this is more about people contributing and having a stage to express their opinion on rather than us giving anyone a job.

As you know, no one's paid for any work on here (very much the opposite) and if people were only interested in writing to make some quick cash then they're probably the wrong kind of people we'd want writing anyway.

Having said that, maybe somone will be the next AllyGold and be good enough to use their articles to write a book and become a millionaire that way ;-)

I would love to write some articles on a regular basis, might be once a month or every other month whatever the case I would be very happy to send you some stuff.

Just let me know what I should do and I will get started.
  4. Real_madyidd
I would like to write an article. I have loads of piccys on my phone from a stadium tour. Includes a fair amount of behind the scenes stuff.
  5. Rob
Cool. If you need to upload the images you can do it here: http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/forums/vbimghost.php?do=upload

Myself or one of the mods/admins can help out if you need help adding them to your article etc.
  6. Dan
Yeah, I am interesting. A at A-Level for English and a plethora of EPL and Spurs knowledge. What more could you ask for?
  7. Dan
I meant 'interested'...but I am also interesting. And I did get the A
  8. talkshowhost86
excellent. name added to the list.

As you know, I'll write match reports for matches that I attend in person and also the occasional provocative opinion piece, with the latter generally being submitted less than 2 hours before I leave the country.

Now that the new site has settled down, this is a good opportunity to thank Rob and co. again for all the work that has gone into making the new site as navigable as the old.

    A couple of suggestions:

The bit at the bottom that you click on to go to pages 2, 3, 4 and "last" could be reproduced right next to the article/column at the top, so one doesn't have to scroll down past stuff one has already read.

Whatever happened to the edit button? It appeared just after we moved and then disappeared again. It's a great asset for those of us whose spelling is a great deal better than our typing.

EDIT: Testing edit facility as per Rob's request...

    EDIT: Hooray, it works.

Yeah I'm up for standing on my soapbox, and spouting some (hopefully colourful) nonsense every couple of weeks/month!!
  11. PaulM
PM me and let me know what you want/require.
  12. talkshowhost86
cheers dave and paul. we shall be in contact when we have some more concrete ideas on how the whole thing will work. in the meantime get some ideas bubbling!

hmmm i would debate the word 'improvements' in a certain context... there has been a great deal of 'changes' from the old site not improvements (how can you improve on the best?) (i miss the chat box on match days the most), however i would agree that there has been 'a great deal of improvements' to this forum style site since it opened.
  14. TheVoiceofReason
I would definitely be interested in doing a monthly column or something like that. vcash or no vcash!
  15. StuckinPoland
just let me know. i'm stuck in vienna (despite the name) so perhaps my viewpoint might be a little bit different.

then again, with the net and all, i have access to the same info that most of you do too.

but i think the idea will work well
  16. Rooga
I'd be up for writing something as well. Anything to distract me from my MA.

I'd be very interested in reading articles/columns by others aswell, judging by the high quality of their posts.
  17. BringBack_leGin
I'd be interested in a regular column. If you look over some of my previous articles (all on the old format of the site admittedly) they always seemed to generate a bit of contraversy and a lot of discussion. And as a season ticket of the last ten years who also uses all cup game vouchers as well I'm well placed to offer opinions.... the first thing i look at when booking a holiday or considering a night out for my and my girlfriend is the Spurs fixture list haha. I'm pretty much Spurs obsessed so i think i could do a good job!
  18. kremlyn
I'm keen but shallow and crave recognition. Some sort of badge would do or a star system like they have in McDonalds?
  19. sloth
Yeah right, who are you trying to kid?? Seriously you'd do a lot better to drop the Tony Blair act and tell it like it is. I know why the site had to change so I don't want to rake all of that up again but it's a bit rich for a forum veteran like TSH to come here talking that bollocks when it's the bit of the site he loves which has been left intact...

I don't know what's happened, but I know I'm not the only one to hardly post anymore, check the front-page stats and you'll see that any given point of the day there' only a handful viewing and it's no wonder the articles have dried up... what's the point without the debate??

On the plus side it's opened up the forums, the ITK threads are great as is the match chat, I question the purpose of the front page though as it nolonger offers anything diferent to the chat forums. Can anyone tell me why we see the same articles being discussed in two different places?
