Cerny wasn't that bad. Far better than that young lad who played in the league cup semi 2nd leg against Burnley

Ben Alnwick? Yeah to be fair I would say him and rasiak have got this question nailed

There were plenty more frustrating players who'd start frequently and just be sh*t, but taking the quesiton literally I reckon Jamie Slabber has to be one of the worst.

Made one appearance for us then plummeted down the league ladder to spend the rest of his career at non-league clubs. He didn't even score much for them, until his most recent move to Eastleigh of the Conference South.

Funnily enough, I remember a bit of hype about him when he was in the academy - as there always is about young strikers. Could Harry Kane be the next Slabber? I think he'll do better tbh, but I don't think he'll cut it in the prem. Hope I'm wrong of course.

Brilliant! Just seen that Espen Baardsen is now head of macro-economic research at an asset management company in the City. Sure some of you knew that, but that's pretty awesome. Smart guy!

That's the fella! And it was the much maligned super pav who saved us in that match with a beautiful goal iirc. I haven't read all this thread but if anyone has mentioned pav then I just despair.

Crouch? You mean the lanky fella who scored the goal against Man City to send us into the CL for the first time, hit a hattrick against young boys, scored the only goal against AC Milan? yeah he was shite.

You have to ignore 'There's always next year' in regard to Crouch. He's only 4ft 7.....it's jealousy.

I can understand people not liking Crouch, but to put him anywhere near this list is lunacy of the highest order!

But anyway, to each their own I guess...

Atouba, Doherty, Ruel Fox, Sinton... oh so many bad memories... in fact, when you look back to the teams we had then and what we have now... F00k me, our team is splendid!!!

I mean seriously, this thread actually makes you appreciate how far we have managed to come despite the utter utter dross we have had. It's a miracle we're still in the Premiership, let alone challenging for top 4 or higher.

This thread has actually made me feel happy, lol!! Imagine that.

Gary Doherty of course, maybe he scores once or twice, but he is clumsy on defence. And the worst thing was he stayed on the pitch all the season

Yea I did know that, but why bring him up in this list? I always thought he was better than Walker and should've played a lot more...

I remember him having a very dodgy game v fulham in a cup game in 1996-7 season - 3-2 it finished mainly cos Maik Taylor had an even worse game for fulham..

Also baardsen is on CNBC as an economics expert sometimes.

Edit- mind must be going, it was 3-1 & the season after.. Gary Brady scoring too.. Whatever happened to him? Newcastle then??

05-Jan-98 F.A. Cup 3 27,909 H Fulham W 3 - 1 Clemence, Calderwood, Brady

Allan Nielsen for me. I remember the summer we bought him, i was obsessed with teletext, and would read it several times a day only to find out we signed this guy. Bit of let down, so im voting for him.

Freund i really disliked, but looking back i appreciate what his role was, and he wasnt so bad, but i agree he typifies everything tottenham are not.

You're joking right.

Did you not see the League Cup final in 99?
