No i didnt - i had to listen to it on the radio.

Granted, he scored an important goal, but i still think he was very poor player.

Nevertheless, he wasn't bad as some of the players mentioned.

I actually thought he wasn't too bad, definitely one of our better players at the time.

Considering the game time he had, being a automatic starter, shocking goals return for the time he played, transfer fee involved (kudos to Levy for recouping all of it) it has got to be Peter Crouch for me......

He shouldn't really be mentioned in this thread, he wouldn't get in our current team but during his time with us there were plenty of worse players!

I remember watching the league cup final in Cue Ball in Chelmsford and when he scored the winner, my west ham supporting mate jumped for joy and was hugging all of us Spurs fans (we were all probably 15 at the time). It was a bizzare moment that will stay with me forever :)

Crouch payed for his transfer fee a few times over with his goal to take us into the Champions League and the ones he scored to help us through to the quarter finals. I just don't understand how any of our players from the last few years get anywhere near this thread.

Yea I did know that, but why bring him up in this list? I always thought he was better than Walker and should've played a lot more...

Yeah was a bit of a tangent. Was looking through that list of players on the first page of this thread and thought I'd google him. He wasn't great, but shouldn't be anywhere near this list.

Haven't seen anyone beat Slabber yet...

has Gilberto had a shout yet? Fuck me he was poor, remember against Spartak Moscow just after the SC game, i said to my boy "get my boots out the bag son, i'm going to have to go on!" luckily Harry took him off to save my embarressment!

And someone said about Bobby "Booby" Mimms, and totally agree but his first game which i think was a testimonial against Monaco he was absolute quality, i don't know what happened to him (confidence, pressure?) but he seriously imploded while he was here!

I checked on Topspurs and Bobby left us in 1990, so falls just outside the 'last 20 years'. He wasn't very good with us, but had a pretty successful career with Blackburn. Odd.

And 'odd' is what I find this thread. Jamie Slabber may have been our worst player ever, but a kid who came up through the youth ranks and made just one first-team appearance? Abdoujaparov did make the point that he was taking the thread title literally, but it's still scratching around. (That's kamikaze Uzbek cyclists for you!) And then, a lot of these bods like Rasiak and Gilberto made just a handful of appearances, so what's the point?
