nice saves by Boruc but just to be certain can we have a video of him catching simple crosses cause thats Robbo's main problem.

tbh if Boruc commands his area like any good keeper should i'd test the water with a cheeky bid

Wouldn't sign Boruc. I'd probably invest in a few up and coming players such as Hennessey (GK) to build for an even brighter future.

The risk of signing a class keeper like Boruc is that he plays for a team that's always winning, so he's always high on confidence. I'd like to see a GK that even when the team (and especially the defence) is having a bad streak, he shows some attitude and not break under pressure.

What Robbo lacks is confidence, and perhaps if he was playing for a winning team like Celtic, he would look so much better.

buy : Petrov - 5 m, Elano or Riquelme = 8 m , Van Bommel 3 m = + 16 m
don`t buy Bent = - 16 m
profit = 0 m and lot of club success
alternatives : don`t sell Mido , sell Defoe ? who other thinks this is good idea
i think Defoe play only for himself not for the team

Sign

Lucho Gonzalez (Porto) 10m
Ever Banega (Boca Juniors) 6m
Damian Escudero (Velez Sarsfield) 4m
Renato Augusto (Flamengo) 8m
Joe Allen (Swansea) 500k (with various add-on fees)

28.5m

Sell

Gardner 1m
Stalteri 1m
Routledge 2m
LYP 1.5m
Ghaly 2m
Malbranque 3.5m
Murphy 1m

12m

Then I'd play a lot of the youngsters like Dervitte, Dixon, Pekhart, Rose, O'hara, Berbiche, parrett etc

...also before anyone has a go at me, I spent a bit of time in argentina & brazil & have seen them play, Escudero is a dynamic left winger, Renato Augusto attacking midfielder, banega a holding midfield with awesome passing skills. Lucho, well he's just class. Joe Allen only 17 but can play LW/RW/CM or just behind the striker, definitely one for the future

Wohoo, these kind of threads are great! Don't think my team is overambitious, lol, as I think our squad only needs tiny tweaking and chopping of dreggs.

Sell:

Routledge (1million)

Zokora (3million)

Gardner (£2.50, lol, just kidding 1million)

Assou-Ekotto (3million)

Ghaly (3million - don't reckon we'd get anymore after Birmingham fiasco)

Defoe (8million)

Total: 19 million

Buy:

Duff (3million) - Newcastle may be willing to cut losses and I'd like to try and get him fit as one of best left wingers around / links well with Keano

Borja Oubiña (5million)

Total: 8 million

Squad:

1. Robbo
12. Cerny
27. Alnwick

2. Chimbonda
3. Lee

I would buy Kallstrom (as I said all summer) and Gattuso. I would then save the game after every match and if I don't like the score I would replay it. Can we do that?

1 Paul Robinson
13 Guillermo Ochoa (Club America £5M)
12 Radek Cerny

29 Phil Ifil
2 Pascal Chimbonda
18 Lilian Thuram (Barcelona £1.5M for the remaining half year of his contract)
20 Michael Dawson
33 Ricardo Rocha
35 Dorian Dervite
5 Younnes Kaboul
26 Ledley King
3 Lee Young-pyo
32 Benoit Assou Ekotto
16 Gareth Bale

25 Aaron Lennon
15 Steed Malbranque
17 Kevin-Prince Boateng
8 Jermaine Jenas
7 Mark van Bommel (Bayern Munchen £8M)
22 Tom Huddlestone
4 Miguel Veloso (Sporting Lisbon £12M)
24 Jamie O'Hara
6 Teemu Tainio
11 Luka Modrić (Dinamo Zagreb £10M)
14 Danny Rose

19 Adel Taarabt
9 Dimitar Berbatov
10 Robbie Keane
23 Darren Bent
21 Macauley Chrisantus (Abuja FC £2M)

Out:
Ben Alnwick £500K
Paul Stalteri £750K
Anthony Gardner £1M
Didier Zokora £5M
Hossam Ghaly £500K
Wayne Routledge £1.5M
Jermain Defoe £8M
Lee Barnard £250K

I'd look into bringing Ochoa his own spanish speaking coach to help him adjust and secure his progress. Though Hans Segers would be replaced as well as coach.

A lot of money for a player of MvB's age, but it's the kind that would be necessary for Bayern to consider a sale. To think that some argued a few years ago whether he was worth £4M or not ... seems silly now.

 Some of you really are playing FM.

I'd bust a gut to sign Micah Richards, £15mil-£20mil
The Italy no2 goalkeeper £5mil
A midfielder who's going to add some steel and determination to our midfield, I have no idea who exactly, but £5-7mil on that, does Appiah fit that mould?

Sell Chimbonda for £5mil, unless to chelsea for £10
Ghaly £2mil
Malbranque £3mil

I'd also get rid of all the backroom staff bar Allen, and start over with all the coaches, and training, focussing on fitness and movement.

There is a vid of Appiah here

The video shows him whacking a good few goals in, but obviously that's not his main role.

In his native Ghana he is well known as "the black tornado" due to the fact that he is very dominant in the midfield and is also very strong.
A combative player, Stephen Appiah has a strong 'engine' and good tactical awareness. He is an all-round box-to-box midfielder who is able to defend as well as create and score goals.
He would be fantastic at Spurs. He plays next to Essien in the midfield for Ghana, so as I'm sure you can imagine, there's a fair bit of energy in the centre. I say we try and sign both

Well we want someone like Essien really I think, is he similar to Essien or is he different?

From what I've seen of him, he's not too disimilar from Essien. There are differences, but their basic games are pretty alike.

He actually stole the show from Essien in the World Cup in the Ghana games I saw. Very impressed with Appiah every time I've seen him.
