Im a bit confused if im honest.

Our squad was thin. Always has been.. so we've now sold Dembele.

So our thin squad is a man down, alright we can live, 3 major injuries and no suitable replacements, knocked out 2 cups due to the thin squad. We've been so desperate for players that GK was getting games and now we've got rid of him too... leaving us 2 players down and we arent making replacements - i know GK is no world beater but we are so desperate for decent squad players that he was getting game time....

Yet we have zero plans to sign anyone all season? I genuinely dont understand whats going on :/

I'd rather give someone like Jack Roles Some time in the bench. At least he might have a future at the club, or at the very least, have some value when it comes to selling him.
GKN, with no future and no real value, is just taking up space that could be giving an opportunity to a prospect.
An u23 player can't have less of an impact!

I absolutely agree with you, id much rather a young lad come through the academy. ..

But that begs the question, why arent they? Why was GK whos barely kicked a ball in months picked over them? I dont personally think it was to show him off before his loan do you? Hes shite... but it seems to me when were wanting for squad players he must offer something more than the young lads to get picked over them.... and hes dogshite lol

Loan with no option is a pointless exercise for a club like us.

Happy we had no interest

I've wanted Tielermans at Spurs for a while now- hes exactly what we need. Industrious, ball winner, uses it well - real touch of class about him.

I don't know, maybe it was just to remind people that he exists.
I don't watch the youth, so get my knowledge from the very intelligent folk in the Youth Thread. But, I'm sure we have several better options among the kids, than playing GKN.

GK's been getting game time because we're in the middle of a transfer window.
Before the window, he wasn't named in the squad because our overseas allowance was full and he wasn't deemed good enough to oust anyone else.
Once the window closes, he may squeeze into the squad as the overseas player replacing Dembele. But even if he does, he's clearly bottom of the pile.
To get a bigger squad, we need to buy English players or those trained here at an early stage - I don't know the exact rules but there'll be plenty on here that do. Which is why Grealish seemed a bigger deal than a championship player should have been in the summer.

You talking to yourself? Spurs transfer windows do have that effect. You’ll be ok, in time.

Yeah and it's taken us 25 years to get to regular champions league regulars. If any business doesnt invest and move with the market it operates in it doesnt take long to fall behind its competitors. If we fail to qualify for it this season that is huge considering the parameters we are working in, we have a new stadium costing the best part of a billion that needs a sponsor and a manager and players that are and will be in high demand.

The next 8 months are huge for our club and to think anything different is niave

I would have thought the last 18 months were more critical - building the stadium, signing players to extended contracts, getting CL qualification. We are doing very well thank you! Let’s chat in 8 months then shall we ??
