Yeh I was more wondering why he hadnt been seen in the Europa League squads because he looked very promising, then as soon as I posted realised he probably hasnt been at the club long enough to qualify as an unregistered youth player!

Yeah, we would have had to register him I guess. Plus he would have still been only 15? Or even if he turned 16, still a bit young!

Quite the prospect though, I agree.

I think he was fairly commanding in the Next Gen games, defensively we were quite solid. Considering he was playing against players 2 years older.

Yeah. And yet he never gets mentioned in the list of our young players who could make it!

I discussed the Next-Gen games, and commented on Ps excellence - but I am as guilty as the next man. Whenever the question is asked which young player could make it, my instant reaction is Tom Carroll - but that doesn't mean I don't rate Pritchard.

Yes, worth looking at the rules to qualify as an under 21 player for European competititions, which are :

'A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1991 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption'

So Massimo Luongo cannot yet qualify as an under 21 player in the Europa League (he signed in January 2011), and similarly Milos Vejkovic, Tomislav Gomelt, Soulymane Coulibally and a few others would fall foul of this rule - so would need to be registered as one of the squad of 25 to play.

Its worth while also recalling that John Bostock fell foul of the rule because of his loans (ironically not overly successful) meant he was not at Spurs for an 'uninterrupted period of two years', so sometimes its not immediately clear.

Of course there are no equivalent rules for Premiership matches or the domestic cups - an under 21 player can play if they are registered at Spurs during a transfer window.

Milos Veljkovic plays like a player 10 years older than he is - performed excellently in all the 7 NextGen games but perhaps even more impressively played in a couple of last seasons Spurs X1 games alongside Spurs first team players against lower leagues full first team sides, and whilst he made a few errors, he did not really look out of place, despite only being 15 at the time ! (Dob 26/9/1995)

It will be interesting to see how he performs in this pre-season - if he looks good, perhaps a long shot but maybe he could become one of the squad of 25 in the Europa League Group stages.
