I have a horrible feeling you may be hoping in vain.
Well then, I hope that Gilberto rips it up on the left wing, making himself open for passes, putting in dangerous crosses, and generally playing like the Brazilian winger of our dreams.
Most of my hopes for this season have been in vain so far. We did beat Newcastle, though.

i want to know why on earth Gilberto is anywhere near the first team......him and BAE would never even get anywhere near the arsenal reserves let alone start. the problem with the DoF position is we dont really know who is identifying and buying these players. levey needs to sack comolli and go back to the old system. jol must be laughing his head off while he sits on top of the german league with hamburg!!!!

fair point SLY

as I saying all summer (trademark DC_Boy :) I wasn't convinced by our LB situation and thought it needed strenghtening - I was told repeatedly it wasn't an issue and I understood that it did seem a bit de trop to buy yet another LB given that we had 3 - but as I kept saying there are question marks against all 3 - and so are there still

gilberto is a mistake - full stop - not even a question mark any more - that leaves the iffy BAE and Bale -

mmm so is the LB a problem slot - It still seems to be one to me

The boy was right. Not that I agreed/disageed with you at the time, it got too heated for little ol' Yiddo1982.
Have a beer on me now for not sticking up for you -

Bae is still settling in after such a long injury spell but he does tend to lose intensity and concentration, looking almost lazy and nonchalant. I prefer Bale at left-back who still needs to improve on his marking at set pieces. We also have the young Berchiche, who won a couple of best player awards during the summer tournaments as a left back. Gunter can also play in that position and looked good there last year.
