I don’t understand why some people want us to sell Moura . He’s played well for us and scored important goals against top opposition.
The money we’d get for him wouldn’t even be anywhere near half of what CP would want for Zaha. Save the money for other positions that are more in need of upgrading. We don’t have bottomless pits of money like City or RM.

Only way Arsenal are getting him is if they sold ether Auba or Laca. I'd rather have either of them than Zaha, so it would weaken them as a team.

If we want to challenge for the PL title, Zaha is a no brainer, unlike others we are linked with, he is proven in this league, has terrorised all the top 6, and under poch would improve and be a world beater.

Says that he favours a move to Arsenal, Arsenal were confident with Champions League funds but they can't afford him now at the price Palace want so might need to shift players to make move happen.

For those unfamiliar with Ornstein, he is as close to a player holding the shirt for Arsenal as possible in regards to ITK.

Who exactly would arsenal sell to raise funds. They’ve no real player assets except for their two strikers. Not enough to raise £80 million without selling half the squad. It’s such a non starter for them.

I put it to an arsenal fan that they should probably sell Auba who's 30 but could probably still make a tidy profit and he was adamant they would riot, they have their 2 best players and biggest assets vying for the same position in the squad and they're unbalanced.

They should try and move him on but there would be a huge meltdown.

We just need them out of the CL for as long as possible.

I hope they try and chase him all window while neglecting the places in their team that need real work. That would be the best outcome, especially if they fail to get him.

Seems a bit ridiculous to go after three wingers this window (Clarke, Sess, Zaha). Surely it's more likely we'll go after a creative #10 like GLC.

I wonder if it would indicate a change in formation. If we're looking to switch to a 4-3-3 (like Liverpool's) then it's wingers we're currently short of. Although if we do have aspirations to play like Liverpool, we're also lacking a decent right back.

Moura does not affect games half as much as he should given his talent and especially his pace and deceptive leap. However, his second touch is very heavy and often he only beats people in a head down, speed wobble way before getting fouled, and all because of his heavy second touch. That said, the Moura away at Old Trafford or Ajax is a cool and clinical finisher who has way more end product than Zaha. I think he needs to play centrally as a second striker (Moura) and get in behind teams on the counter, and against teams that park the bus he is ineffective from a wide position. Zaha much more suited to a wide forward role with us against teams who sit deep due to his ability to beat people in tight spaces.

Lucas Moura would be alot better with full confidence. Must be hard when a hattrick in a semi is'nt enough to play the final.

didn't Palace want 70 mill or so for WAB according to some reports ?

If Manure negotiated 20 mill less then possibly the same could happen with Zaha

Palace has to pay 20% or 25% back to ManU for Zaha, thats a huge chunk into their profits and probably a big part of why theyre asking for such a massive fee. Theyre also relegation candidates the second Zaha leaves. AWB theyre not and could be better off if they invest smartly as RB isn't that important a position for them due to their spot in the table.

Yeah that 25% fee Utd will get makes his price a bit ridiculous.

If Palace want 55mill from his sale, they have to sell him for 73mill.

If only Palace were successful in getting Utd to scrap that clause as part of the AWB negotiations.

I doubt the 25pc would be on the whole fee CP get. Sell on clauses are on the ‘profit’ made by a club. This isn’t necessarily just what they get less what they paid. ‘Profit’ will be defined in each contract. And costs reducing profit might include wages paid during the years the club held onto the player before selling, etc.

Not saying you’re much out re Zaha it’s just sell on clauses are way more complex than they appear from the outside.
