It's been reported in the Croatian media that Dinamo Zagreb's #1, Zdravko Mamic, will be in London this weekend meeting with Chelsea and Tottenham officials.

The Chelsea visit has been scheduled/reported for a while, but it's the first I've heard/read that he'll been meeting with Tottenham reps as well.

Current Dinamo players that Tottenham have been linked with recently include Sime Vrsaljko, Mateo Kovacic and Milan Badelj.

Dinpomp who do you think we can realistically get out of those 3 named players and for what kind of price?

Dinamo
don't sell their players on the cheap.

The media were yet again running reports last night that Arsenal and Manchester United are battling it out for Vrsaljko. United reps will once again be in Zagreb next week.

The media is reporting that Dinamo's price is 15m euros.

For Badelj they are believed to be asking for around 10m euros.

I can't see them selling Kovacic yet. He's just breaking into the first team.

I can see Vrsaljko being the most likely, but there will/would be serious competition.

if we are in for any of them im sure having the 3 lads here already will help. Just on a side issue with the 25 man squad thing is there a british quota that has to be reached, i cant remember? then if we bring another non briton in, do we have to drop one etc?

Clubs must now name a line-up of players who are OVER 21 and at least eight of them have to be homegrown.
A homegrown player is one who has been registered with an English or Welsh club for three years before they are 21.
That means the likes of Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Nicklas Bendtner are classed as homegrown.
Managers can use as many under 21 players as they want, regardless of nationality.

(sorry just checked!)

Has Badelj not progressed as much as was expected?

He had a slow start to the season. He's been better recently, but he's been played out of position for the majority of games (wide right in a 4-2-3-1, when he's much better in the middle).

But he still managed to get a call-up to the full NT for the last qualifier.

Just googled Zdravko Mamic and came up with the Dynamo manager, is there two of them?

Just realised this Vrsaljko guy is a right back .. no wonder we want him.

Must be pretty fucking special to be worth €15m at just 18.

Doh! I understand the fellow isn't the Dynamo goalkeeper, but their manager and the fact that he's meeting our reps is because he might be discussing a move for one of his players!

You got to admit calling him Dynamo's #1 is a bit confusing though!

I thought the rule was that your 25 man squad could have no more than 17 non-homegrown players, a slight but significant difference for the clubs who couldn't find 8 homegrown players.

The above source (^^^ in Croatian) now has quotes from Zoran Mamic (Dinamo's sporting director) that they will indeed be in London talking "with English clubs" about the potential sales of both Vrsaljko and Mateo Kovacic.

The clubs mentioned in this story are Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal. But that comes across as speculation on the author's part.

Should we just try and cut a deal with Zagreb that gives us first choice on their players? They seem to have a constant conveyer belt of them and I have been impressed by the Croats who have played for us.

Good luck with that. Not how Dinamo works. Why wold they limit themselves? Mamic is as shrewd a negotiator as there is.

Dinamo have a very good youth school and it's full of prospects. But they won't be signing any sort of agreement anytime soon. You can bet on that.
