Am I the only one who thinks he should have taken the game off? Awful story but it is only a game, and a youth team one at that.

Wow. Terrible for him but credit to him that he can raise himself like that.

@Chris_D I expect he said his goodbyes at another time and I bet he discussed it with his family. A few relatives of mine have died from cancer and they were never aware of their surroundings as they passed, so only he could decide whether it was better for him to play or be there.

Such a sad story. He is a very brave young man. I am not sure I or anyone else would have played with this news hanging over them. RIP and condolences to Zenon and his family.

Very hard to say. It sounds like he was told her death was imminent, so he could either be sat in London traffic slowly making his way to the hospital when it happened, or putting his energy into the game.

I doubt I would have played in those circumstances, but we all deal with things differently.

Agree with the sentiment here, you'll have to put this down to a personal decision with no absolute right or wrong either way.

Everybody deals with grief differently and the decision he took with his family's blessing I'm sure was difficult but the best for him and his family. Who are we to judge.

I don't believe it happened like it has been reported at all!
