Paulinho scored six goals in thirty games last season, Sandro one, Lennon one Townsend two, Siggy six, Bentaleb none, and Capoue one.

I know that some of those players have suffered injuries but overall Paulinho has had a good first season, and is well worth the money and team selection.

Clearly Paulinho is in need of an extended rest. His played from we signed him far to many games.

in fact he hasn't had a real break since last May, and i mean May 2013 when their season starts. there are not many players out there that haven't had their 6-8 weeks break between seasons let alone still no real break after a year and 2 months.

has also needed to acclimatise to a new country, stronger league, and a completely different style of football and footballers around him. Sandro took time to settle

How many games did he play? Why does he need a rest? I didn't ever see him play with any kind of intensity, he didn't play all games, he was out injured for a while ... why does he need a rest over anyone else?

he never had a complete 6 weeks off that most players get from May to July

Absolute garbage in my opinion, by no stretch of the imagination has he had a good first season. What exactly is he? defensive midfielder..cant tackle!, creative midfielder?..cant pass! attacking midfielder?..cant shoot! Yes he got some tap ins but he has shown absolutely no qualities that indicate that he was or can be a good buy. Genuinely want to know why you think he is? as if I remember rightly you stated that he was somebody in our squad who could possibly play for a top 4 team!

Funny that this criticism comes from Zico! Of all the great Brazilian footballers who have come & gone in the 20th century, Zico stands out as the one who clearly never lived up to his advance billing! His international career could be summarized as one big dissapointment. I find it ironic that he is now aiming his criticism at Paulinho, when there are several players in the selecao that need to pull their collective thumbs out of their arses & start playing to their potential, Paulinho included!

Where did i say he could play for a top four team in that post.

Depending on your point of view and what you consider to be a good first season? For Spurs to capture a Brazil first team player is obviously below your expectations for Spurs.

Fuck knows what planet you come from but it isn't one called Reality.

Firstly in a previous post you have definitely stated that you thought that Paulinho was one of our squad who could possibly play for a top 4 team, I didn't say this post! I don't misquote people unlike you.
I would consider a good first season to be giving an indication that you have the ability to be a very good footballer..eg good tackler, good passer and good shot! Has he shown any of these for Spurs or Brazil in WC? I judge him on this not that he is a Brazil first team player.
The reality is that you didn't answer the question!...so i'll try again for you, WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU SEE IN HIS GAME THAT GIVES YOU THE OPINION THAT HE IS A GOOD PLAYER OR HAD A GOOD FIRST SEASON?

That he was selected to play in one of the best International sides in World football and not just a top thirty European club side.

You don't rate him so just let's finish here.

On your profile you give your age as 20?

About time you began acting like an adult.

I'm not the one who 'grabs my ball and takes it home' every time i'm on the losing side of a discussion! eg 'ignore is a great option'...'i consider the matter closed' etc.

I still find it baffling that so many fans will give a large number of our players grief if they don't perform to 100% of their ability in every game, but are still backing Paulinho despite contributing very little.

I was just about to say we have a knack of turning good players shit.
Sometimes players don't make it but anyone think Bentalab showed a lot more promise than Paulinho I certainly do yea Bentalab made mistakes but I could see a promising player who is 19 yrs old Paulinho might turn out good but 17 million I don't see what he offers.
