This is Zlatan Ibrahimovic we are talking about. Arguably the world most arrogant footballer. If you think he would go from a reported £225k a week to under £100k you must be banking on Levy naming the new stadium "Dare to Zlatan arena."
I like it...

It's quite funny picturing Poch trying to tell him to close down defenders quicker :ROFLMAO:

IF we could sign him, how many Zlatan shirts would/could we sell? Surely there'd be good money to be re-couped on his shirt sales alone, no?
A Zlatan Spurs shirt would shatter any shirt sale records within a week of signing so you could be on to something here:woot:

To be fair, I knew you were joking too but 90% of the people here didnt so I didnt want to get shit on for this

It is a funny old place. Suggest Charlie Austin and you'll be cut down for wanting to sign a player that's "not good enough", but jokingly suggest a (almost) 34 year old bloke playing in a shit league and they sharpen the knives because he's "too good" for us.

I wonder if people think David Villa is too good for us...

Yes, I'm still upset we missed out on him. Fucking Atletico:( ... watch him be loaned to the senior club in January

Zlatan being the centre of attention in the best league in the world for a team that is breaking into the US with a new NFL partnership giving him more attention than he currently has?

Isn't he paying 75% tax in france though?

€288k is £202k

So he actually gets £50k a week after tax. Which would be around £90k a week for us before tax.

Easy.

I'm quite sure Zlatans salary in the contract is the same regardless of the tax as it was written before france altered the income tax to 75% and that's one of the reasons PSG want to get rid as they have to pay way more than what they should. So it should be closer to £100-150k a week if what I heard is correct in the swedish media.

EDIT: So while Zlatans original contract was something like £288k a week before France changed the income tax, now PSG have to pay more as Zlatan had a "fixed" net salary. That's the rumour anyway.

It's annoying because A) its a non-starter and B) there was a time when such a glamour signing had our name all over it!
