So he never played well in the last 2 cc finals then? I can't even be bothered to list the number of games he has been good in and a few when he has been immense.

I suppose you are a fan of Hudd (about 10 decent games in 100) and jj (can't string 3 decent performances together and is mostly anonymous)?

Do you watch the matches or do you just decide who has played well beforehand?

I always decide who has played well before I watch the actual game, obviously!

i rather like zokopops - at least he has the right attitude and gives 100% (something some of our other players would do well to emulate) and has been fairly consistent this season. we all know how limited he is in ability, but his athleticism and versatility provides a good option in the squad since physically we're fairly lightweight...

at RB he's put in some good performances but given time will be found out. he's still poor positionally and his hard work may make up for it now, but teams could start preparing for him and his technical weaknesses will be exposed. against villa i would prefer his pace over Corluka (recalling how Young ripped Charlie apart last time we played them), but i think Charlie should definitely be in our first 11 somehow for most games. Zoko is great cover though and he never complains, and it's not like we'll get much money for him anyways if we tried to sell him, or a better replacement that'll be happy to sit on the bench.
What he said. My only worry against Young is that he's a cheating whining little shit who might get Zokora sent off by doing one of those crap "jump in the air before the tackle" dives just as Zokora does one of his awkward-looking dive-in tackles. He would also provide cover against Agbonlahor's pace.

One thing I really like about Zokora is that he seems to be really good for team morale. He always seems to be positive and animated off the pitch and before Keane came back we didn't seem to have enough of that.

I'm not a great admirer of Zoko in the midfield but as a right back I really do think he is pretty good.

For me this is his best position. Keep him there.

I think he would have done better today than Corluka - but I'd have rather seen Zoko at LB and either Corluka or PC at RB

when we had a poor run before xmas, Zokora was one of the few bright spots in the side.

I dont get all the zokora bashing?? Name me a player in the team who gives more week in week out??? whether its man united in the cup final or s****horpe away!!

I think Zokora has a good ability to fill in at RB and CB, and trust me pricks like jrio don't know what they are talking about, do you rememeber

Moussa Saib, Kazuyuki Toda, Gary Doherty, Ramon Vega, and the list can go on and on

Zokora is a solid player, ok he has flaws in his game but I think its Jermaine Jenas syndrome again where people just dislike him so much that they never see any good he actually does

He is Spurs so give the lad a chance??

Yes of course I remember all those guys and they were absolutely shocking but after having my hopes raised again by BMJ's back to back 5th place finishes and watching Carrick & JJ in CM I dont wont to watch Zokora there.

I have no problem with him covering at the back, If need be, but I dont wont to have to see him playing in Central Midfield for the club I love and hope can do better.

Haven't read through the entire thread so maybe this has been said before but with Corluka- Zokora- Hutton- Gunter to cover RB why did we sign Chimbonda ? Contrast with LB where we have BAE and no quality options.

I reckon Zokora would have been better at leftback than Chimbonda yesterday.

well I told anyone who wanted to listen that we needed cover at LB all last summer, and I said it again during the jan window- but a lot of people on here & elsewhere (including it seems our management) didn't agree.
Look how we suffered when BAE was out for 4 games

I still wonder tho why zoko isn't given a shot at LB - that might solve the problem - but apparently he's not rated there - tho someone said he played there for his country

No right footer player should ever play left back unless his name is Lee Young Pyo

I think that zokora has all the tools to play RB plus to me it is easier to play than central midfield as you are more focused and have less responsibilities. One problem that I see with Spurs is when we don;t play as a team - when i watch MAn U play I see players hungry for the ball, running off the ball, creating space etc - I do not always see that with Spurs and so that adds to the pressure of playing central mid for us and RB being 'easier' to play. Beside I would like us to see WP solidify the central mid as I believe that he could be better for us in the long run than Zokora

For me, buying back Chimbonda is the biggest mistake Harry has made in the transfer market.
He surely must have asked people at the club what kind of player Chimbonda was when he was here last.
I am shocked that we still bought him.
Maybe he is a stop gap and was the cheapest option.

Next week against Villa, we really need to play Zokora as a RB and hopefully BAE will be back. I am really becoming a bit upset with Corluka at the moment, he played awful yesterday .. Chimobnda does not play LB, he was awful, I wish we had Jamie play LB then him. Anyway, lets hope we can start to gert a decent run going, as I am stil not convinced we are reallly in the clear ( i for one still think we could go down, thats my personal opinion).

Luckily you have nothing to do with team selection as Jol, Ramos AND Redknapp all put him as one of the first on the team sheet. In your delusion you obviously aspire to being a better manager than any of them.

Not in the centre of midfield, when both Palacios and Jenas have been available Zokora has mssed out.

On-topic - to me RB makes the most use of his talents while covering up his deficiencies, his pace and energy help him get up and down and its much more difficult for him to get out of position.

yeah but it underlines why "worst international player ever for spurs" was a ridiculous statement. Yes we ha Carrick...but he has moved on, so must we...it seems like we never do!

Zokora when he was bought had a massive reputation, ok he hasnt lived up to it, but he's a good squad player, shows tremendous heart and commitment...i thought thats what we wanted? I agree he is not the solution to our midfield problems, but he is a more than worthy squad member and I just don't buy this making him the scapegoat just because he isn't Michael sodding Carrick.

I agree alot mate.....Corluka has been bum raped twice by Ashley Young this season, Zokora v Young would be interesting but it would mainly be down to the ref as I think Young could win alot of fouls because of the aggressive way Zoko plays.
Yeah I really don't get why he doesn't play O'Hara at LB? Or give Bale a go at LM when we play Luka behind the striker?

i hope harry isn't buying into the bale jinx! as it is i'm ok with easing him into games bit by bit, coming on as a late sub - we really don't want to ruin his confidence at this stage, when it seems like he's been getting it back gradually. i want to see him at LM too so he doesn't have to defend as much, but he does seem to attack better from deep

young dives a lot so i'm a bit worried zoko will get carded, but we definitely shouldn't torment charlie again. give zokopops a go, his pace will still be very much needed. still feel that JOH is better as an attacker, he has a decent shot on him and is tenacious enough to attack balls in the box, not sure if he can do much at LB...
