You can't possibly believe that big Tone would have played as well as Zokora did on Saturday, SS57? That, too, is a preposterous claim, he makes a new-born Bambi look coordinated.

Well, granted, he does sometimes look like a confused basketball player who's wandered into the wrong arena and is wondering what the fuck's going on, but against that he has had a fair few decent games. We tend to remember the bad ones.

We were a tad lucky yesterday in that 'arry decided to go 4-5-1 and that Muntari offered minimal threat as a result. And when he did go 4-4-2, it played into our hands and they were no better off. How well we'd have fared against one of the 'Big Four' is something I don't care to contemplate.

Zokora seems weaker in midfield becasue he is. he slows the game down more than any of our midifielders. He is a fast runner, not a fast thinking footballer. His failure to set a decent tempo is onw of his biggest problems. We play slow, predictable football when he is in the team. This is a clip Junade_Ramos posted earlier of Alonso, and shows the vast difference in quality between a top DM and how he uses the ball, compared to Zokora. Zokora's problems are to do with his lack of ability and not to do with his team mates.

Im sorry, Jenas rarely plays passes forward. Ive had a season ticket for 3 years and seen jenas from day 1. He has always disrupted momentum, and often plays the safe sideways pass. Him and zokora are very similar, but zokora cant shoot. To say zokora does it more is ridiculous. They are pretty evenly matched.

Forgetting about what the top 4 have for a minute, Zokora is one of our best. He'll play wherever he's told to play hold things together well enough. When it somes time to clean house, he'd be very low on my list.

This is just not true. Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb, Eboue are as quick as Jenas & Zokora if not quicker. I agree they are all more intelligent and move on the ball and off the ball more intelligently but they are also helped by the superior coaching and movement off the ball of the whole team.

Keane and Berbatov don't always help by standing two yards apart in the "D" waiting for a miracle instead of joining in with play. Lennon also needed to learn to get involved in the game the way malbranque does, even when it's just to offer availability. Arsenal don't rely on an Alonso type DM, just good movement and intelligent footballers to exploit it.

Not even close. Eboue is the quickest of that lot and would not get close to Jenas never mind Zokora. I think he is close to being the quickest player in our squad, perhaps Gardner, Bent and King would give him a contest, but he is very, very quick.

Back on point, I agree, it is all about movement off of the ball not pace on it. If your players make good angles and options for those with the ball you can move the play very quickly.
