Spurs midfielder Didier Zokora has warned neighbours Arsenal that Tottenham will finish ahead of them in the league this season to secure a place in next season's champions league competition.

Talking to the News of the World, Zokora told reporters:

"We are winning games and showing we are capable of great things.

"I absolutely believe we can beat Arsenal to a Champions League spot.

"Apart from Chelsea and Manchester United, the rest are separated by only two or three points"

Good to see you're thinking positively Didier, but now go out and show us.

Last few games have had me thinking that a European place is a more realistic aim.

Go on then zoko go out there and control a game!

I just wish he'd shut up and actually do it rather than talking about it. Idiot. We've not finished above that lot for at least ten years.

We're all of the same opinion, however now is the time for ALL the team to show more determination, a la Ghaly, that we can do it and that includes you Mr. Zokora.

    QUE VIVA LOS SPURS

He will show soon enough that his critics are wrong - he hasn't yet had a blinding season, or run of games, but his class has been seen in glimpses - now for him to do it on the pitch consistently rather than talk about it - I am sure he will be a wonderful player for spurs.

Actually, I'm just as optimistic about the future of Spurs under Martin Jol now as I was at the start of the season. I just hope Levy and the boys have the nerve to stick with it. All great teams - with the possible exception of Chelski - have been founded on stability, hard work and perseverance. Perhaps we won't finish above the scum this season, but we'll get there sooner or later!

    Now that I agree with.

This year would be nice though. Perhaps we can pip them for 6th in the last game of the season!

Zokora has been getting quite a bit of stick on here lately. Whilst I agree he has not played well, I wonder if this is down to the malaria illness that he had.
I'm not an expert but I read on here that this can take some time to get over.
His form before the illness was good but has deteriorated since.
I think it may be next season before we see him at his best.
In the meantime, he talks a good game.

Cheers for giving whinger something to pin to the dressing room door, Zoko.

Mind you - they were proper shithouse against the blades.

As part of my new positive outlook on life ! Give the lad a break, I have been his worst critic. He just needs time to settle, but he will show us what he is made of ! I have forgiven him for that pathetic game against Liverpool ! CoYS

Far too many harsh comments I think...the guy has come of the back of a world cup, a move to a different country, gelling with a new team, has had injuries, malaria and a suspension. Considering all of that he is doing ok. I think that with a bit of luck he will contribute big time during the run-in.

zokora talks out of his arse.

let your football do the talking, zokora!
  16. idlepete
So he's stupid and mouthy as well as crap.
  17. Crabby
Bloody hell, the guy has a couple of crap games and is slated. Yes he gave the ball away against liverpool but Hudd should have cleared before and gave the ball away more than he has thus far. Zakora is quailty and has had a blip after his bout of malaria, he'll be back and will have his doubters eating their words....also nice to see his belief in the squad and long may it continue

Don't worry, NoTW is written in English (just). The Scum squad won't understand a word of it.

I think the problem with Zokora and the fans is that he isn't actually the player that we all expected. I don't know about you but I thought he was an anchor man, a Makelele type who keeps things ticking over and breaks up play in the final third.

However, Zokora looks best for me though when he's surging forward into the opposition half. He's made some brilliant runs in the past and seems to be more naturally more of an attacking player than a defensive one who's up for the scrap.

Theres often a touch of class about him but his form is a bit worrying.
