What's new

Zokora isn't the player we hoped.

I know this will piss a lot of people off, but he isn't. His positioning is diabolical most of the time, he doesn't stay in front of the back four, (three) (two) like he's supposed too and the only time he looks any good is one every four or five games when he makes a fifty yard run. We really need a good player in this position and Ramos will not continue putting up with his defensive inaccuracies.

So, aim and load and............

He does actually have a point. It's funny how he went from playing very poorly as a CM to looking very good as a makeshift CB though.

You could have justified this thread a few weeks ago. After his past few outings i don't think you can write him off now. Let's see if he carries on this way.

I don't know if you're being serious or not, though. You could have made this thread pretty much any time in his career at Spurs and gotten away with it. He starts stringing good performances together, so then you make this thread. Weird.

Oh dear God, not the old malaria chestnut again.

No, he isn't the player some of us had hoped he would be. I thought that had been established quite some time ago.

Funny, I thought West ham and his first-half tonight were fucking terrible, just terrible. His inability to help the defense when it actually matters (continue tracking runs, put pressure on the man with the ball as he sizes up a shot) were flabbergasting, and he only 'clicks' in any sense when he is used as deep sitting defending midfielder/sub CB...

Unless he seriously improves/fulfils potential, he will play his way out of the club...right now he reminds me of that Cisse geezer Birmingham had a few years back, and that is just not good enough for me

Yes, you are.

His first half was no more terrible than the rest of the players'. And his second half was a damned sight better than most.

Don't waste your breath, though. I already know there are people who'll bash Zokora come rain or shine. Same with Stalteri, Lee, Jenas and on and on...

I was about to complain about how I did not think Zokora would be brilliant, however I read your comment in more detail and dont see the need to complain about it.

None of them are - Dawson is not the player he was last season - Berba's not quite firing on all cylinders - Robbo though improved of late has a way to go -

HOWEVER did'nt our boys come back well!! Did'nt wendy shake em up a bit at half time? I've seen more good tactical substitutions in the last month than in the last year.

Let's face it BMJ nice as he was would not have shook it all up at half time like that - tonight was the first home game I missed in 4 years and they played a blinder in belief.

HOWEVER someone tell bent that going on telly saying the manager's moves 'sometimes work and sometimes don't work' is not the right attitude -

Darren - listen - the manager was inspired and inspirational tonight - he pulled it out of the bag - when things were going wrong he put them right.

Clearly there is a lot of work to do but he looks like a man that can do it

Paellla & Sangria all round - well done to the boys and ramos

Oh and the comment about Zoks - get a life - he was rubbish like all of them in the first half and had a good game in the 2nd half

I'm not a Zokora fan... but I think he was superb in the last 45 today. Looked far more comfortable and composed in the CB role than either Daws or Chimbo.

He did in the home tie against Sevilla last season. Unfortunately, Sevilla are rather better than Aalborg.
