Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora is seeking showdown talks with manager Harry Redknapp after being linked with a move to Spain.

The Ivory Coast international is being tipped to join Ivorian compatriot Romaric at Sevilla after slipping down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

Zokora did make 28 Premier League appearances for the North Londoners last season, but fears a lack of first-team football in the 2009/10 campaign could hinder his international prospects.

The 28-year-old has revealed his family are settled in the English capital and that should he be forced to move on he would prefer to remain in the Premier League over relocating to Spain.

    Settled

"I'm aware of interest from clubs, however to be honest I like Tottenham and want to play in the Premier League. Also my family is settled in London," he told skysports.com.

"I have so many friends here, however I need to be playing week in, week out in order to keep my place in the Ivorian national team. There are many good players contesting my position.

"Harry's never told me he does not like me. I will have a chat with him and see."

I like Zokora and although he is now 3rd or 4th choice I would be sad to see him go as he is very versatile and is a very driven player.

I think he would be a steal for Sevilla at even 6m as players like Poulsen got sold for like 8m.

agree with boxset dan always gives 100% and playing CD or RB i can not remember him ever letting us down,
a very good squad player and he is settled here in the squad so if he is happy to stay and fight for the team all the better

LOL These journalists crack me up!!

Journo - "Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora is seeking showdown talks with manager Harry Redknapp after being linked with a move to Spain."

Zokora - "I will have a chat with him and see"

    Hardly constitutes showdown talks!!

I bet he shows more loyalty, than that Liverpool reject !

Agree with comments above, gives his all, will willingly play anywhere for the team, shame he's not exactly world class in any position though.

If we want to compete on all fronts i.e. both cups and top 4 we need to keep Zoko and others to have a good squad. I think other squad players should be shown the exit before Zoko!!

zokora was dropped in it by comolli talking him up like we were getting a player in the mould of carrick but better.

In truth he is a decent player & a hard worker but was never gonna be of the class he was made out to be.
