good.least he gives 100%,cant say that about alot of them..

So did Teemu and Steed

I agree with the headless chicken comparison - and he gets booked too often

As I posted on the front page thread, "if GDS, Modric or Bentley get injured, who would you rather have on the bench? Steed or Zokora?"

And if Hutton or Woodgate get injured - Zokora or Steed?

Actually, IMO both are pretty stupid questions. They are different players who play & provide cover in different positions so I don't think its really a like for like comparison. However, we have plenty of cover for the three players you mentioned whereas the positions covered by Zokora are less well stocked than those in which Steed played.

Gunter is cover for Hutton but Ramos has chosen to use Zokora

So apart from O'Hara, who do we have as cover for the attacking midfielders? The Hudd?

Steed played on the right for Fulham but we chose to play him on the left - therefore he was an ideal midfield cover

And we all know we need more cover than Daws for Ledders and Woody

I just don't want it to be Zokora

Gunter apparently isn't the first choice cover for Hutton as Ramos has, as you say, chosen to use Zokora in that position. I doubt that this is seen as a long term solution - I guess Hutton will be first choice with Corluka (if he signs) & Gunter as cover but FTM Ramos clearly doesn't think Gunter is quite up to being main cover yet.

So apart from O'Hara, who do we have as cover for the attacking midfielders? The Hudd?

Yes we have those two as well as Jenas & Lennon who could (conceivably but not ideally) play in that advanced central role. Also, the three you mention can all cover for each other, assuming they're not all injured at the same time & any one of Gilberto, Bale & BAE could cover the LW/LWF slot. So...

ACM - Modric, GDS, Bentley, Jenas, Lennon, Hudd, O'Hara...

LW/LWF - Bale, GDS, Modric, Gilberto, BAE, Lennon, O'Hara...

RW/RWF - Bentley, Lennon, GDS, Jenas...

We may add Arshavin to that mix who can play any AM position as well as 2nd striker & if we were to really stretch a point, we could add the likes of Rose, Bostock & other youngsters as 'absolute-last-resort' cover. Even with a gigantic injury crisis, I still think we could put out a quality attacking line up. This further reinforces what we already know about Ramos, namely, that he likes his players to be able to play in multiple positions.

And we all know we need more cover than Daws for Ledders and Woody

I just don't want it to be Zokora

Of course we need more cover at CB & ideally that shouldn't be Zokora - hopefully the 4 Amigos will sort this by Tuesday - but Zokora has IMO shown enough at CB, RB & DCM to be considered at the very least, a handy squad player & one who should be kept on. Don't get me wrong, Steed is a very good player but as I said before, we undoubtedly have more cover for Steed's positions than we do for Zokora's.

Plus, Roy Keane provided six-million-or-so reasons why we should let Steed go...

He did well today. Not the greatest passing display that we'll ever see, but was pretty solid in front of the defence. We have plenty of others in the side who are considered good passers. As long as he keeps it short and simple he'll do ok.

But that's the problem with the man. He thinks he's Michael Essien! He refuses the short pass and is always looking for the 'long' killer ball which he ALWAYS fcuks up. The reason Lampard had so many scoring chances in the first 15 mnutes was the big hole that Zokora left on his galloping runs forward, where he enivitably lost the ball and then sauntered back into the defence. The man is a liability!! Keano leaving - disappointing, Berbatov leaving - upsetting, Zokora extention to contact - madness.

Drop the grudge, mate. It's a losing battle.

We still have that bet on, remember.
