Zokora can look back on his career and say he has a league cup winners medal. He was brave enough to step up and take a penalty against PSV as well, scored too. I wish him nothing but the best.

He also won the Copa del Rey with Sevilla after leaving us.

He would be up there amongst my worst ever midfielders. If BC describes Son and Dele as bumbling then I can only describe Zokora as " super bumbler ".His control was diabolical. And he was signed to replace Carrick ! How he was preferred to Tainio in the final after Teemu was magnificent in our demolition of L'Arse in the semi will always be beyond me. He had the chance to win it for us when he was clean through against Cech in the final when it was 1-1 . Needless to say he screwed it up.
It was Zokora's own great run that created the chance. I agree with you about Temmu but at least he had his moment...

I don't think any moment has summed up a player more than that one summed up Zokora. 90 minutes gone, everyone is tired, but he sprints through on goal with a lung bursting run from inside his own half, outpaces everyone, then Cech saves the one on one but it rebounds nicely to him for the open goal, which he then hits over the bar. Fantastic athlete but an awful footballer. Think he played even more games than Freund without scoring even though he played in a much better Spurs side.

I liked him as a character though. Seemed like an honest and humble guy. I remember a story about how he'd always collect all of the players' boots at the end of the season to send to poor kids in the Ivory Coast. His reaction to Berbatov's penalty was priceless and even though I think our entire fanbase communally groaned when he stepped up in the shootout he stuck it in the top corner. Also did a good job playing at RB in his last season, until he got absolutely destroyed by Ashley Young and Harry subbed him off during the first half.

Good luck to him.
