Gianfranco Zola will consider his future overnight after West Ham's 1-0 defeat to Stoke.

West Ham equalled an unwanted 43-year record on Saturday as Ricardo Fuller's

69th minute strike saw the Potters inflict a sixth straight defeat on the Hammers at Upton Park.
Only a better goal difference is keeping the East Londoners out of the drop-zone, but third bottom Hull City - who beat Fulham to go level with Zola's side - have a game in hand on their relegation rivals.
Speculation has been rife about the Italian's future throughout the week and the Hammers tactician has hinted he could leave the club.

"I don't want to talk about it (leaving), I'm so disappointed about today's game - that is not in my mind now and the rest we will see," Zola told Sky Sports.
West Ham's 3-1 defeat to Wolves on Monday saw co-owner David Sullivan

describe the performance as "pathetic" and "shambolic", but Zola thought his side's latest loss was an improvement from the midweek result.
Pity

"I think it was better than the way we played the other day, unfortunately it wasn't enough to win the game but it was better than the game midweek.
"In the first-half we played well but in the second-half it was a pity as Fuller's goal changed the game."
Mido replaced Benni McCarthy

in the West Ham starting line-up on Saturday and the on-loan Egyptian striker squandered the Hammers' best chance of the match when he fluffed his lines from six yards in the 35th minute.
Zola admitted he spoke to the former Tottenham forward about the miss and gave the 27-year-old the benefit of the doubt.
"He told me it bounced too high so he couldn't convert it and that was unfortunate," he added.

Muppet.

I suppose I should thank him for sending the spammers into the second tier, where they belong.

There were loads of West Ham fans phoning in after the game today complaining that Mido's several kilos overweight.

Yup, that's the Mido we know..

Cheers Zola, thanks to you West Ham are going down and as a result we get future Spurs back up Scott Parker dirt cheap.

How's Scott Parker been this season, any good?

He's been one of there better players this season (though that isn't hard). When he's on the ball West Ham look a lot more dangerous, though today once Stoke scored he disappeared.

Parker is a fairly good box to box midfielder and isn't too bad at shooting from distance. I doubt he'll be a starter for us but would make a very good back up, especially if Jenas leaves.

Errr, sorry to illusion-shatter here but Parker has been magnificent and would get into our first team. The idea of him being back-up is wishful-thinking on a grand scale. I've watched West Ham numerous times and he's been superb in all of them. Their fans admit he's the only thing separating them from a Pompey-esque situation.

Should be in the England squad, truth be told. Arguably as good as Palacios. And probably more consistent.

Who the fuck are you, his agent?

If Parker's that good then he's worth a punt I suppose

Makes you wonder why Liverpool didn't try to sign him instead of Aqua-what's-his-face

Yeah, it really does. I was chatting to a mate the other day and pointed out that Liverpool+Parker=4th place this season. Would have been cheaper than AA, too. Although having the pair would have been better as Parker would chase the ball and win it then give it to Aquilani in good positions. As it stands Masch sits more and bulldozes players with less of Parker's drive. And Lucas is a further rung down than that.

Parker wouldn't come to us as I understand it as he is too close to the Hammers fans and their weird distaste for us.

Every report I've read about Parker this season has been absolutely superb, definitely worth a bid. Remember how close Smith was to Leeds and then went to Man Utd? Parker comes across as a bit of a twat too so it's possible. What about Noble? He was getting plaudits a few seasons back but I've not heard much since.

As for Zola, it's just another case of an inexperienced manager. Pearce, Keane, Southgate and now Zola all got off to good starts but when the results went into decline they didn't have the knowledge or experience to turn it back around. The Premiership is the most attractive league in Europe and is no place for a rookie.

Haha! No, not at all.

I mean, I'd never say that WP and Huddlestone should start ahead of Parker.

If we were in the Champions League, he'd join us in a flash

He needs a stable club where he has the potential to win trophies. Spurs would suit him nicely and he wouldn't have to leave London

Of course, Man City might offer him obscene amounts of filthy luca. He's already sold out to Newcastle, so I don't see why he wouldn't do it again

For mischief's sake, I'm tempted to fish out the thread that was running in GC just over a year ago in which several SC members compared Zola favourably to Harry.
