Oh is today "test the bashing ITK limit" day. Good luck with that. Look, the rule of thumb is "apply salt". This goes for the likes of JJ as much as some buffoon like Agent ITK, from that web site that will not be named.

It doesn't mean it's the same salt. With JJ we think "may still fall through" because he has earned his political capital

And with somebody new like yesterday, we should be saying "they're new and this might not be what it seems". Also like Spurger said (paraphrasing) "A fixed percentage is like a slug.....kill it with salt"

So the only person to get mad at is yourself. You're excited....I get that. But that doesn't exempt you from logic.

I'm sure Brownhead had information he deemed legit and probably came here excitingly wanting to share.* It didn't pan out. Doesn't mean he's trolling the thread as a guest watching our responses, stroking his hairless cat and saying things like "it's all coming together, Mr. Cuddles". Although if he is, I would actually say well done. Most of us can't pull of a 70's Bond villain parody very well. I kind of hope this is the case as I really think that through.

So like a lover, don't give thy heart out freely. Make sure thy new found inamorata has sterling at one of those new joint venture trading companies to be safe. And balance thy four humours.

*Or at least use PM's to bash

kdspur, we were offered VDV as we had enquired earlier in the window. We were originally told a much larger fee (in the region of £18m), things changed and they came back to us and we dealt. Far too many rubbish stories about how that transfer went down.

The last itk from Brownhead I can recall was him saying that Modric was definitely off to United - last summer.

Is there still a page on this website where people can look at itk track records? It might help people to set realistic expectations.

Think we should ban all ITK or 'gossip' cos all it does it upset people that nothing has happened.

Let's go back to the dark ages, when the first we knew we were interested in a player was when it appeared on the back page of a newspaper AFTER he had signed

Don't know what we'd all do with our time instead of repeatedly looking at this site in the hope that something has changed, when of course it very rarely has.

I think alot of the whining on here stems from the fact that there are new members joining all the time.

If you had been through a few transfer windows on this forum you quickly learn which ITKs to listened to closely and those whose information isn't so reliable.

I get that if you're new to the whole ITK thing that you automatically trust any info posted in the RO. I would recommend reading through the 'ITK logs' though to try and form an accurate picture of which 'ITKs' to trust.

Oh and just to note....the Happyspur from COYS in the roundup is not me. Unfortunately. I wish I had connections. As I said yesterday in response to it "I'm so far removed from ITK I just heard about that new kid from Argentina. He's hot. Named Madonna or something."

I think people need to watch out that they dont knock ITK's too much or they may risk getting banned. All ITK has the potential to be wrong, even JJ. He could say "So and so" has agreed to join and by the time he has posted the info, situations could have changed/gone downhill and made his last ITK outdated and wrong. Just enjoy the info good/bad and remain hopeful. I would much rather be provided with ITK wrong or right then not have access to any and have to rely on rubbish journalism from the papers.

Well there was talk that Daniel Levy wanted a Klinsmann type of signing, so maybe this Klinsmann talk is true. No signing is more like a Klinsmannn signing than signing Klinsmann.

I did get a little worried when I went into the ITK read only and read the title of POTLs update. I thought the term 'unrest' was going to relate to Verts unrest at how long we were taking.

However the business of Spurs is football and from a footballing viewpoint i (and i'm sure many others) would argue that getting Verts in early and having him partake in a full pre-season and give him plenty of time to settle in the UK is worth paying an extra £1-2m quid for - as it well enable our club to make the best possible start to next season, where at the end of which we will lose tens of millions through lack of CL qualification (as we did by 1 point this season) and we will lose a million or so quid per league finish too.

Pre-Season is a long way off though. I'm sure we'll save ourselves a couple of million and still get him before the squad returns to training.

The only 2 itks i trust are Roger Morgan & Archie from so not meaning to offend anyone on here but they are correct 99% of the time im still quite new to this site so im not sure who is the reliable itks and who arent.

i know we were offered vdv. i know he was on market for such a price and that bayern were signing him for 17 million apparently.

my point is i dont believe he was offered to us first when bayern deal broke down. obviously madrid wanting rid of himmeant they needed to reduce fee but the whole topic was people claiming harry had no say or knowledge of deal been done which is complete bullshit and also the myth of been done at last minute by levy is something i dont believe either. vdv knew he was going to london at least 24 hours before window was shut which gave us plenty of time to get deal done. it was kept pretty quiet though and not one itk knew of it which kinda says something.

The top 3 are from this site. JJ, Ryan and rebrab. Archibald, PoTL and Peanut obviously have connections, Roger Morgan is obviously a journo and most of his stuff doesn't come off but does end up in the mail next day. IMO SC is the best place for ITK.

You need to trust JJ after he was completely vindicated when he called Saha and Nelson before anyone else got wind of the info. Best ITK bar none.

He could probably post lots of info but as he has stated before this is a public forum and he can't just go around posting everything he hears/knows as then it would be obvious where that has come from and then he won't be able to post anymore as he will in all likelyness have lost his source of contact/job!

He has however said that stuff is going on behind the scenes, so if we are patient then I am sure he will come back with a Goat update somepoint soon.

Personally I think he's too good a source and too sensible not to have some degree of official authorisation.

That is not completely true as storts and ValenciaYid both post on here and seem to know what is going on at various stages of deals.

IMO, Peanut's quality of info is right up there with JJ - albeit he hardly ever posts these days. But when he does, the info is invariably rock solid. JJ and Peanut are both untouchable for accuracy compared to any other ITK, IMO, but (very luckily for everyone who uses SC) JJ is able to share stuff with us on a pleasingly frequent basis.

Yeah Peanut is usually spot on. He's just gone AWOL lately.

agree with all that, but at the same time you cant really play it off as a masterstroke signing by harry. ANY manager would take VDV for 8 million in a heartbeat.
